Explosions In The Sky have announced a pair of anniversary edition reissues for their landmark early albums Those Who Tell the Truth Shall Die, Those Who Tell the Truth Shall Live Forever and The Earth Is Not a Cold Dead Place are set for release November 3 via Temporary Residence Ltd. Both have been sonically bolstered by an immaculate remaster from Bob Weston and are being made available on colored vinyl for the first time ever. Additionally the packaging for The Earth Is Not a Cold Dead Place – Anniversary Edition features expanded artwork in a triple-gatefold jacket with heavyweight slipcase. The announcement arrives on the on the heels of the band’s first new album in seven years, End, whose release has yielded a panoply of critical and fan praise amid the rapturously received The End Tour, whose US leg ends this weekend with a pair of sold out shows at NYC’s Bowery Ballroom, where the band will play The Earth Is Not a Cold Dead Place in its entirety for the first time ever to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the album’s original release.

End is arguably the grandest Explosions In The Sky album to date – melding the quiet restraint and crushing weight of their early recordings with the aural exploration and ornate experimentation of their later works all the while incorporating skills and insights gleaned from their increasingly deep film and television scoring experiences. I was going to post these! Iconic albums especially TEINACDP. I have an original press but I'd definitely take a remastered copy of it!

My oldest son was born when the song Memorial played in the background. Me and my wife have "your hand in mine" tattooed on our wrists as well!

But I’m a sucker for a colored variant.

 

Yeah, I have the black 180 gram as well, but I want this. I don't like having multiple of the same record, but may make an exception for this one

dangit, black 180g 2014 variant checking in... nah $38 before shipping, cant justify $50ish for one I already got. Really pretty though.
