Even though it’s not a great album, I feel like Devil is the last good Lydia album. I kinda fell off listening to them after that. They had a few tracks here and there that recaptured the original magic but never again a full project. Maybe I’m wrong though—haven’t really engaged with their new stuff at all.

 

Their first 2 albums were so strong, then I don't know what happened.

 

Oh I'm still getting Catalyst when it drops, it'll just be easier later this month.

Record stores love used stuff as it's 100% profit to them, whether they'll give you a good deal is another thing entirely.

 

I scored Hidden in Plain View "Life in Dreaming" for $50 Canadian used. I can only imagine how much the guy got when he offloaded it at the store. Luckily the owner just wanted to make money off the haul. He originally was charging me $100 and I told him I'd think about it and then just caved in the end.

 

Most of the original members left, huge lineup shifts. I do think Assailants and Paint It Golden are worthwhile.

Hoping for a repress at some point if DTR continues with this new vinyl project.

 

Tracked down that Bandbox variant of Third Eye Blind’s Ursa Major, and so glad I did! Sounds rich and full.

My old Zia had a copy of that in the used bin for a while on brown wax for like $20. I wanna say as recently as 2021? Seeing how much it goes for now I probably shoulda moved on it, but I’m happy for whoever eventually found it

Yeah, it's the "Seaweed Ocean Blast" variant from the AKR store. Super pretty in person. Sufjan doesn't normally do color vinyl, so I'm very happy with this.
