never heard of A Sound of Vinyl before

 

I’m 1 for 2 with sound of vinyl. They shipped one promptly and then cancelled a “warehouse find” after delaying it for 2 months. Hope everyone gets theirs!

 

speaking of misses, what albums have you all ordered (new releases) that don't sound as good as you would have liked them to sound.

for me it was NFG coming home from parting gift/take this to heart and no pressures full length from triple b records. both albums sound not good, bummed most about NFG, i love coming home and it was spread across 2 LPs and still sounds weak. nice packaging through. i scoffed at all those flippers who were flipping before the album even shipped, they didn't know it was gonna sound bad either!

I started collecting in 2009 but I went through a phase for most of the 2010s where I thought I was ”””too cool””” or something for a lot of the music from this scene except for a couple artists. (dumb dumb dumb)

So for me at least a lot of the represses in the last few years have been about getting the chance to own stuff on wax that I probably played the cd of until I burned a damn hole in it circa 2003-10 but then barely listened to for a decade after that

Plus I sold a bunch of shit at one point, also dumb dumb dumb

 

i used to sell cds for gas $ back then when i needed it, now i keep everything, i always regretted it and then rebuying it was soul crushing. but i also looked at it like i must really love this album if im buying it again, same medium or not. but i was the same way as too cool for blu-rays, dumb i know, they look better than dvds but at the time i didn't think they'd catch on hahaha i was wrong!

 

Just Universal Music's vinyl store. Very legitimate. Been big over here in the UK but think it's getting a bigger presence over in the US too.

 

Haha luckily my basement stays pretty cool all year 'round.

 

Smartpunk tweeted they have two pre-orders going live today. 1. Anyone know what time I tweeted them and they responded with a shoulder shrug emoji. 2. Anyone have any ideas what it is? Could it be catalyst I feel like they’d want a bigger roll out for that no?

 

One is the Yellowcard ocean ave black vinyl (pretty sure it’s the same on the universal site)

I'm liking that these In Keeping Secrets variants are solid color, but I hope at least one is orange or something that actually matches the art. I've already got a black copy of the 2014 press, but I'll double dip for the right hue.
