Ha! I got a notification that a store in my neighborhood has an item on my wishlist - BOUGHT.
It's dangerous out there.

 

I've never listened to Kacey Musgraves but there's one with a red album cover that's been on sale for 50% off at my B&N for forever, no one's picked it up

The red one kinda sucks. The rest of her albums seriously rule though.

Red Cover has Breadwinner, so it's good, but Golden Hour is def better.

 

I'm thinking of heading there today to pick up an online order so I guess we're starting a poll in here until then

Aqua - Aquarium

Whitney Houston - Best Of

 

Breadwinner and Cherry Blossom are the only good songs on that album IMO. It’s too bad because I love all her other stuff.

Regardless if you like the album or not, it’s probably not the right choice as an introduction to her.

 

Star-Crossed is the least good Kacey record, but there's a lot to love about it, IMO.

I would do Aqua or Savage Garden but not at those prices, Jesus.

I always say buy the thing.

 

Star Crossed is good, just not as good as her others. They did press way too many copies though.

 

If you're still on the fence, just buy it knowing it's her worst album. It's not godawful or anything, but it personally does little for me--I know some people like it though. Maybe just listen to her others first before you actually spin it. Golden Hour especially is an all-timer (the title track was one of my wedding songs).

 

Golden Hour is the best for sure. The new one just didn’t hit as hard as that one so it was a letdown.

 

Buy Golden Hour. It’s not just her best album, it’s one of the best albums of the ‘10’s.

 

Golden Hour is her magnum opus so anything coming after was gonna be a letdown.


The marketing also got people way too hyped for it. A lot of people thought it was going to be a biting album about the divorce. Kelsea ballerini did THAT very well with her EP from this year.

 

i need to cancel some pre-orders, spending wayyy to much on vinyl lately... it's a terrible (wonderful) addiction.
