I live in Canada actually (in Ontario). I use a shipping company called Shippsy to try and offset the ridiculous international shipping costs to Canada (15-25 USD per record nowadays). Their warehouse is in Sanborn, NY (outside of Buffalo).

I use it to take advantage of media mail shipping when I can (especially if I order multiple lps from one shop or if there's free shipping after x dollarsl. Once I've accumulate a few packages I'll request them to come over the border. Takes a few days. Once it arrives at the facility (in Mississauga, ON) I drive and pick them up. Obviously there's fees and VAT that I still pay to them but in the long run I'm saving money most of the time.

The good part is the warehouse is just 10 minutes down the road from me!

 

Today's buys. Got outside, walked around, saw more albums than I could afford, and snagged these two.

This record is such a fun, early-Summer listen. Glad I finally secured a copy of this!

Its criminal that I have CTTM, EWIKM and MDL on vinyl and don't own this yet. Indoor Living is one of my all time favorite songs.

I still remember seeing them in a small club in 2003 touring this album with Northstar and Rufio.

My 'Does This Look Infected' vinyl was delivered in a literal pizza box.

I've seen some interesting packaging choices over the years from buying records...never received one in a pizza box tho lol

Whoever pressed 'Chuck' and 'Does This Look Infected?' did a great job. They both sound amazing.

 

Yes, it was Amazon. Almost always get records in the typical vinyl boxing but this one came in a pizza box and another vinyl I ordered (Prolonging the Magic) came in like, a hefty bag...

The bottom of the box actually did look a little worn and dented. The actual album seems pretty sturdy and did not notice any outside damage. Who knows when I'll ever actually open and listen to it. Could be months/years, haha. I have a terrible, ridiculous, habit of buying vinyl only to never open/listen.

 

Amazon just gave me the wrong record entirely lol

 

That happened to me recently too!

 

Ordered a Thrice horizons/east variant I thought I was lucky to find. Shipped and sold by Amazon too. Got some random doom metal album.

 

For what it's worth, this album is meant to be delivered in a pizza box.

 

They should repress that HORSE EP.

Also the only other album that should EVER come in a pizza box is the DTR "Welcome to the Family" comp.

 

haha I had that back in the day. One example of a picture disc not sucking.
