BAD

 

Hit and miss, which could be described as BAD.

 

Damn. They have some Blink albums I want. Thanks. I will stay away.

 

1234 Go put up a lot of Blink stuff recently. Not sure what they have left.

 

I’ve never had a bad experience with SRC but it seems like enough people have that it makes me hesitant ever ordering from them

 

only SRC order involved Daydream Forever and Felt by The Chain Gang of 1974 (the former was an SRC exclusive). both came somewhat warped and Felt had a decently -sized seam split. i asked about an exchange and they said only if i tried unwarping it myself and it wasn't successful. i've also heard horror stories of people trying to order Copeland's YAMS and getting sleeves but no records. unless you can't find it anywhere else, it might be best to avoid them.

 

i never had either (a decade ago) but i stopped ordering after i saw all the complaints, they got super sketch over time i guess. but i got blink, saosin, tsl, yc, jimmy, ul, ava , & mcs from them and they all sound immaculate

Got this one and the two Format albums the other day. Only spun Interventions & Lullabies so far, but it ruled.

 

Beneath Medicine Tree showed up. looks and sounds *almost* perfect. side D is warped in a few places to where the needle bumps up against the record a little too closely during Walking Downtown, so since it's sold out (blue & bone variant), i'm gonna use the heavy book method for a couple weeks and see what happens.

 

never tried the heavy book method. Is it just put it between two heavy books? My a amark a mission a brand a scar is in tough shape

 

more or less. i was able to slightly unwarp copies of Spiritbox's S/T and the latest Tears for Fears with it. i also have an out of print album that came totally fucked a few years back, and never got around to using the book method. might try it next.

 

Nice nice. I already owned the Format records from way back when, which is kinda a shame because the represses sure looked nice but I have a strict no extra variants policy with myself haha

 

I personally haven't had any issues with them. But I know a lot of folk who've had bad experiences. They had a small shop in downtown Toronto for a bit back in 2015-2016. Went there for RSD in 2016 and got everything I was looking for.

I guess order at your own discretion, and only if it says in stock.

As for their exclusives I've purchased from them they've all been pretty good. The only one that sounded like hot garbage was the SOTY "Page Avenue" which I sold for a decent price on Discogs a month ago.

Last time I ordered from them I ordered Smashing Pumpkins "Pisces Iscariot" and a coloured pressing of Nirvana "Bleach" it came no issues. A few weeks later I get another shipping notification that it shipped and thought it was a glitch... Another package showed and it was the same lps again! I just sold them to my brother in law for retail haha.

 

I stopped listening to AFI after Decemberunderground, but it seems that there's a Crash Love repress out at the end of June if anyone is interested...

Holy shit. My holy grail and I had no idea. I was so close to spending $300 on it. I’m curious if it’s “official.” Davey does not like represses except for Sing The Sorrow apparently.

And thanks for the thoughts on SRC. I went the eBay route to get some of their Blink pressings. Prices weren’t that horrible.

I was listening to my recently purchased copy of 3EB - Out of the Vein yesterday and this is when being too careful goes wrong…as I am flipping the second disc over it slipped out of my hand and landed on the tonearm then hit the stand and side of the speaker. Got some lovely scratches but it still plays well with some noise now. I’m so pissed at myself. Haha

never got super into this band but Medicate goes dumb

 

I was more into them during the Black Sails /Art of Drowning / Sing the Sorrow days. I do remember seeing them in Toronto when Decemberunderground came out and they had Dillinger Escape Plan open.

Parents with their kids being subjected to 43% Burnt live ... Priceless.
