Thanks again to all those that gave me recs for Phoenix, Arizona! I was able to hit up Target, Zia and The Record Room all in one go.

Burst & Decay wasnt available at all in the UK so I’m so stoked I was able to find that.

I also already own Red TV on black, but owning it on red vinyl I could not say no.

Still so jealous of that copy of Mending you were able to get.

    Very cool story!

Quick question for the vinyl thread: How often do you replace your stylus? Also, are there signs you look for in either the sound quality or overall performance of your turntable set-up to let you know it's time to make a stylus swap?

I've had this Audio Technica stylus for about a year, and I listen to vinyl pretty much every day...

    Die rad.

They say 1000 hours, but my local shop tells me that that number is very off and could be closer to 2500. If you spin records 8 hours a day like me (work from home) no way Im replacing a stylus twice a year. Thats like $1000 annually in good needles.

Did you find the 1975 at a shop? Or did you have to pay an outrageous amount for an online copy also? The orchestral arrangements elevate the songs so much and I hope they do something similar again

  9. I replaced mine last year even though it was nowhere near 1000 hours of use. All my records started to sound muddy and bassy. I don't know if I bumped it or something without noticing but a new stylus fixed the problem.

  10. I got it on ebay, it wasn't that bad (I've spent more lol) but it was definitely more than wanted to pay, but, it's the 1975, and they're one of my completionism bands for sure.

Also a big fan of it, I've had the files for a while but really like owning this.

    Do you have the EPs?

I think I'm gonna start making an effort to get those on wax.

Is there a pressing of Underoath - They're Only Chasing Safety that is considered the best sounding version? Discogs is no help. Seems like every review trashes most versions. haha.

I mean it's not really an album that "sounds great" on its own. I feel like it would need to be mastered for the medium for it to sound half-decent

Feels like Summer out there, so obviously I turned towards spinning this!

The Ataris Silver Turns To Rust has a pre-order date of July 28th. Apparently, it's the first official vinyl release since 2017: Merch from The Ataris

I wonder why that pressing is such a massive flop. Obviously overproduced and I also don’t think too many Adele fans collect vinyl. But I’m not sure even that fully explains how poorly that album has sold.

it just wasn't as massive of a comeback album as they were anticipating, and they massively overshot how popular vinyl is.

according to my quick google search, on November 2021, Adele's album sales amounted to 378,000 as CDs and 108,000 in the vinyl format. and by January 2022, she had sold a total of 900,000 CDs and 318,000 vinyl. she apparently pressed more than 500,000 vinyl copies, which seems low for how many are left, if all those other numbers are accurate.
