Death Touches Us, From the Moment we Begin to Love Supporter

Im unfortunately in Brampton and there basically the local Sunrise Records in the mall and that's it!

Ive been shopping a lot online since the pandemic and have continued that trend. I did hit up Pop Music in Cabbage town for RSD. It was the first time hitting up RSD in person since 2019

Being a father of 3 boys it's hard to find time to sneak off solo downtown to aimlessly crate dig.

But my go tos are: Sonic Boom, Rotate This, Kops, Dead Dog, Pop Music.

For online: Mindbomb Records (St Catherine's), Le Noise (St Hyacinthe, QC), Encore Records (Kitchener)

Gonna Ride My Palomino, Ride 'im to the Fair.

    I hear that.
I try and drag my family out to the stores when I can, but they don't have the same patience as I do with my lists: "Hang on, we have to check Bill Callahan AND Smog you guys, no skimpin'"
Dead Dog has a nice "discount" page that has turned out a few gems (see: Cloud Nothings for $16.99)

    Thanks for the recommendations!!

I scored a pressing of The Appleseed Cast "Sagarmatha" for 10 bucks at Dead Dog a few years back, I saw it on there recently used again but the price was $90.

Dragging my wife into a record store is her worst nightmare. She can't do it. She doesn't share the same passion haha.

We were downtown last night for a date night at Kinka Izakaya at Church and Gerrard. No record stores were involved in said date haha.

Death Touches Us, From the Moment we Begin to Love Supporter

First this thread connected me to one of my sought after white whales earlier this year (The New Frontiers -Mending)

In the craziest twist of fate, this community has reunited me with one of my best friends from my childhood/teenage years that I lost touch with after high school. @adtron4000

A dude who got me into some of my favorite bands growing up and still to this day (MxPx being one of them!)

Went to my first concert with the guy (Foo Fighters July 1997)

    I'm mind blown! Haha

To quote the great Louis Armstrong "...and I think to myself, what a wonderful world."

That Foo's show is hard to top. Prime Foo's is excellent.

So glad to be here. So glad to reconnect!

I won’t list everything I purchased this month trying to rebuild my collection because I spent way too much money (30-ish records so far). Just wanted to share one. Had to get the glow in the dark copy of this album. Haven’t enjoyed this band this much in over a decade. Sounds really good - I know glow in the dark can be tricky sometimes.

Today has been a hugely relaxing day for me (first in months) so I'm pouring over rekkids. Got this gem years ago on one of the first record store days (before the line ups)
    Good times

You are like the third or fourth person from this thread who I got to buy this record. It’s SO god damn good.

"Yeah my girlfriend, likes UL and DHC"..

...I don't got any UL, but I do got DHC. If anybody sees copies of Lockjaw and/or Purr in the wild. Hit me up! One of my all time favotire punk/ska bands.

Finally getting time to play some Tears of The Kingdom while spinning some tunes.

    *1000th post!

My friend was just sending me pictures of the variants for both albums... These turned out amazing! As for the music some of their best work bar none (for both albums). Stoked to have them in my hands!

Not sure on the variants of this release, but I went to this store last week and know they have one in stock as I saw it

We reach for the longest shadow

Picked up Turnstile’s Time and Space and ManOrch’s Valley of Vision from the local shop today, and got mewithoutYou’s [untitled] EP as a gift.

Aren’t there some copies of VoV that have an incorrect side B? Haven’t gotten a chance to spin it yet. Beautiful variant though.

I can't remember who I was supposed to notify about The Number Twelve "Put on Your Rosy Red Glasses" repress but it's going up Tuesday at 1pm EST and there's Wax Mages in the mix!

Hope you're all having a great weekend!

Been enjoying the weather the last 3 days but wanted to get a spin in of my top album of 2020. A stunning return 22 years after their last masterpiece "Downward Is Hevenward".

Still patiently waiting on the Earth Analog represses of YPAA and Electra 2000.

Yeah the sad and sudden passing of Bryan definitely halted any rumblings on the band front and I'd respect that if they decided to hang things up (again).

But I'm so happy they dropped Inlet. It was an absolute masterpiece front to back. I just remember blasting it to and from work with the windows down during those hazy summer days of COVID lockdown 2020.

Inlet is legit one of the best records I've ever heard. Just incredible from start to finish.

I love that album so much. Was lucky to find it recently at a local shop. Hope it’s not the last we hear from them.
