I had The 1975 in my cart on Townsend Music. I went all the way to PayPal and hit submit and it goes right back to my cart saying it's empty.

I try to re add to my cart and I get these errors.
Fuuuuuuuuuck.......

I'm sure the band has standard black copies in the works... Wishful thinking.

I'm so bummed.

I’ve been watching Discogs for any reasonably priced copies of RSD Chuck, one listing for $35 has appeared and disappeared at various intervals over the last 24 hours. Seller seems legit, can’t tell if their buyers keep falling through or if Discogs is buggin. Placed the order and am just keeping my fingers crossed

 

I grabbed The 1975 on ebay. I will not be taking any further questions at this time.

I’ve been doing the same and actually grabbed one as well lol. I’m hoping that the shop is just slowly putting them out to not flood the market so that they have a steady stream buying them, but I’m also worried discogs is buggin out.

I did also place a”preorder” through Bulllmoose, which I am also not convinced will come through… but hoping I can cancel that one if/ when the Discogs one ships

This response is honestly the only reason I even posted about it in here lol - figured someone else was in this boat and it’ll be nice to have a frame of reference if enough time goes by that I don’t actually hear from the merchant and start to worry. You do make a great point though, and considering the fair price point it wouldn’t be a huge leap to assume they’re releasing one at a time to mitigate resellers

 

Ended up in a work meeting for 2.5 hours. So couldn't figure out the forwarding thing. Glad I didn't waste my time since the website was down at 12 anyways

 

Would it be feasible for Discogs to "ban" RSD releases being put up on their marketplace for a set amount of time 48 hr or like 1 week?

Or would they never do that because flippers would just use other avenues to get their $$$$?

 

I'm not super bummed that I couldn't go this year because there's nothing I really really wanted but I checked Discogs just to see and Maya Hawke's 7" is going for like $75, I'm not paying that much for two songs. Hopefully RSD resale prices gradually go down for people who actually do really really want the things.

 

Received a message from the discogs seller, sounds like they do have the record in stock, but it is another new variant (translucent cream w/red and gray swirl), not the green. They sent a message asking if I still wanted it and apologized for the confusion! So you might want to check your messages on the order page to confirm or cancel

 

Hahah, came here to tell you the same thing. Can’t imagine what a “translucent cream” looks like, and I don’t see anything about that variant anywhere else online. But I let them know I was cool with it, so we’ll see! This run of RSD pressings are apparently the first to not have a gap between songs, so as long as it’s actually an RSD version I’m sold

 

agh that Sigur Ros is so expensive. I just can't do it. beautiful variant though. maybe it'll drop in price on discogs in a few weeks. wish it was at the store I went to this weekend. they had the BSS but I already own another variant of that so I didn't pick it up. both incredible albums.

They have Broken Social Scene up again and they were OOS.

 

I finally ordered a copy of Enema from Amazon this weekend and figured I'd just send it back if I got an edited copy. It arrived today, and, I can happily report that it's unedited!

 

What's the seller you guys ordered from? I bought one from Beatnick Montreal over the weekend (also $35) and it shipped today. No correspondence about being a different variant. I don't care much either way.

in hindsight, while it is the lowest i could get it for (with shipping, it works out to £53.99, which is approximately $70 USD), the rates on Discogs aren't too much better. i'm kinda doubting she'll do another release since it's so niche compared to her other releases, so if you can swing it, Discogs might be a good bet for now.
