Departures "Death Touches Us From the Moment We Begin to Love". Arguably, one of my top "post hardcore" albums ever.

The songs Broken, 1994 and Memorial ruin me.

Departures were so good. Didn’t care as much for Teenage Haze but their first album was my first record (I accidentally bought it thinking it was a CD) and the reason I started collecting.

Unrelated but if anyone wants an unopened copy of teenage haze, I’m unloading…

I grabbed a copy of their first album for dirt cheap off someone on ebay along with Teenage Haze and their 7".

All I need is their Distancing ep.

Finalized my list for RSD on Saturday. Hoping I can snag 1975 the most. Everything else would be gravy

Got my Commit This To Memory Bandbox finally.

The magazine was fun little read. The funniest part was during the band history when in like 2 sentences, they go from signing to a major for My Dinosaur Life in 2010 to breaking up in 2016. #JusticeForGoAndPanicStations haha

  12. Hey there, new to the thread. I got a cheap record player from Five Below so I could listen to the Boygenius EP (which later came out on CD anyway...) and pretty soon I found myself with a decent crate-sized vinyl collection, a lot of alternate colors like Target exclusives and such. I've since upgraded to a Crosley suitcase, I know those aren't ideal but Audio Technica is a bit expensive, I'm planning to get one eventually. Anyway, my Meteora 20th Anniversary just came and it's so fucking cool. Still not as big as Bo Burnham's Inside RGB Deluxe haha

    Die rad.

I went to Rough Trade in NYC for the first time this past weekend and must say it was a big let down. I remember the one in BK being much larger.
Side note; Im sitting her trying to justify buying a $400 cartirdge or using that to help redo my kitchen. We really are jukies over here lol

When I went to Rough Trade in BK before the pandemic I didn’t get anything. The space was really cool. I forgot that they moved from that space. Big bummer. I’ve always had good luck at Generation Records over by Washington Square Park.

I used to go to every RSD at Rough Trade BK until they moved. Once they moved to Rock Center, I haven’t bothered to go in.

I remember seeing a few shows at the BK Rough Trade. This new one at the rock was super small with not a great selection.

Don't play your favorites on that player too much.

Yeah, I've read that the sound quality on Crosley's aren't great and can damage your records over time.

Balance and Composure had their record release show for Light We Made there. It was quite the experience.

I'd recommend choosing one way of investing right now. Either on the records themselves (seems like 23-26 are gonna be some crazy years for represses) or saving up for a solid TT.

I went with the investment of buying records when I first started.
