I’m not a vinyl collector at all and don’t even own a record player, but my brother gave me a copy of Enema of the State for Christmas today. I’ll likely just hang it on my wall haha

Any ideas why my player won’t play 7 inches properly? I changed the speed. I used the little circle thing that goes on before the ep. But it plays slow still. What am I doing wrong?

Edit: I also switched it to the 7 inch option.

 

What's the main issue? Is the needle not getting low enough to touch the record or something else?

 

It’s playing, but it sounds like it’s too slow.

Did my annual spree on a downtown Toronto store 25% off everything sale online... Last haul for the holiday season.

Told my wife not to remind me how much I've spent on wax the last month and a bit haha.

 

The only time I’ve ever had speed issues was playing a 7” boot of a Green Day BBC session. In that case I had to shift the pitch of the record from 45rpm to actually nail the right speed.

 

I’ll probably pick up the Whitney album soon, and my dad got me the 1975 album but it won’t come in until January. Pretty weak haul for Christmas for me so far.

 

Got Welcome Interstate Managers from my parents, but that was the extent of my Christmas haul. Everything else on my wantlist is out of print and having any of my family attempt to navigate Discogs/eBay is asking for trouble.

 

my Christmas vinyl shenanigans were minimal, but fruitful. gifted AURORA's The Gods We Can Touch and BRM's How Long Do You Think It's Gonna Last? to my boyfriend and one of my sisters, respectively. in return, my boyfriend gifted me Screen Violence by CHVRCHES, and another sister made a custom slipmat with a picture of me and my boyfriend, which is one of the nicest gifts i've ever received.

 

I didn’t get any of my most wanted records, but at least now I know what I can snag online if I see them for a better price. $40+ is too much for me, generally. But maybe I’ll splurge with some gift cards I got.

Ive got the Jade green version of Midnights coming to me once they get released next year.

the jade green looks just as lovely in person. The lyric insert/photo book is also very nicely done. You’ll enjoy it.

Do you know where the slip mat came from? I ordered one from MySlipmats.com or something and it says it shipped, but if never showed up. Wondering if I got scammed.

 

she said she ordered it from Etsy. i don't remember the seller's name of the top of my head.

 

Green is my favorite color so I was already leaning towards that variant. Wasn’t in a position to be buying vinyl on release and was a little sad when I noticed the green sold out initially

I don’t see Summer, maybe it sold out already?
Was gonna pre order Winter until I saw the Fall 2023 ship date.
