i went to a similar store in my town and the vinyl rack was a wasteland. They had a couple Olivia rodrigo but otherwise it was mostly garth brooks and random Christmas albums. Thought I was a genius going there but either this store doesn’t stock much or I was late to the game

 

I had nothing better to do today so I drove around to 6 Walmarts. Listened to the game on the radio. All of them were picked over. Not much left at any of them. Did grab Maggie Rogers Surrender & Brockhampton's Roadrunner New Light, New Machine. Stopped by 1 Target. Didn't find enough I wanted for the Buy 2 Get 1 Free

 

My Walmart didn't have shit unfortunately.

In other news, my order from No Sleep from March 4, 2021 finally got here yesterday lol. Damn close to 2 years

I don't think so, I think it's just this limited edition one that was "sold out" until they discovered more copies in a storage unit like 3 years after they broke up

 

I take it back there's a couple versions of Listen & Forgive that are around $100

the only other one I would consider is the Fluance RT81. It's ~$60 more expensive, but I think it's better long term, but not quite as user friendly out the gate. It doesn't have auto start and doesn't automatically move the tonearm back in place when you're finished, it just stops spinning when it gets to the end and you have to place the needle down yourself. you can also upgrade the needle on the Fluance pretty easily.

While typing this out I decided the Fluance is definitely a better buy if you can squeeze the extra $60. If you can go higher, the RT82 is even better since it doesn't have an internal preamp (less electronics inside the player = less noise interference) but then you'll need an external preamp like the Art DJ Pre II.

My setup is the Fluance RT85 with the Art DJ Pre II preamp into a Sony STRDH190 and a pair of Jamo S803.The Sony has a built in phono preamp but I already had the Art so I use that instead. I probably need a speaker upgrade to get the most out of that turntable, so I've been eyeing the KEF q150s since they are on their annual sale for $300 instead of $600. I think the Pro Ject Debut Carbon EVO would've been a slightly better choice when I was buying my setup, but the jump from $500 to $600 was just slightly too much to swallow at the time.

That's probably way more info than you need, but maybe other people in the thread need some pointers too.

I think a buyer is trying to scam me on Discogs but I'm not sure what the scam is?

As soon as they paid they messaged me saying "it's a gift and don't include a receipt" I thought that was odd since it's Discogs and not an online shop but whatever. Paypal went through, I packed the record and shipped it USPS media mail with $50 insurance since it was an expensive record I didn't want to get lost in the mail.

Shortly after sending the tracking info to the buyer on Discogs, I received another order for the exact same record (different color variant) and when I checked the shipping address it is the same address I sent the first record to. Different username, same shipping address. Both usernames are relatively new but they have a lot of positive buyer feedback on both. They requested the same thing on the 2nd order with no receipt as it is a gift.

I asked them why they have two different Discogs usernames being shipped to the same address and am waiting for a response. I don't think I will send the second record until they respond, and the 1st one arrives with no issues. Just wondering if any one else has experienced this before and if it is some kind of scam from the buyer?
