Those are all solid purchases! I've had that Wolf Alice album on repeat this weekend.

 

My local shop didn’t get any wolf Alice and it’d so bizarre for them. They normally get everything new. Oh well, Ordered the green from Brooklyn vegan instead.

 

Currently looking to upgrade my set up for a better way to store my records. I’m looking to get something like this:

Anyone have experience with a cabinet like this? I want something that I can store the records like that in the bottom and then have the player up top

 

That should do quite nicely. Been using my similar ikea cube shelf forever.

those droors will be cool too to store related equipment like cleaning stuff or extra sleeves and whatnot

 

I recently bought a couple hundred sleeves and swapped out a bunch of them on my records. Looks and feels nice to have them pretty much all uniform. Gotta buy some more to finish the rest

 

That is my next endeavor. When I decide to “level up” as a collector.

 

I like the look of this, but I’m really not crazy about those wire brackets on the base. Feels like it would give uneven pressure on some of the records.


I’ve hit the pause again on buying vinyl. It’s just gotten so out of control, I can’t even justify it right now. Feel like I’m getting jobbed every time I click buy. I legitimately might go back to CD’s which I haven’t bought in ages. I know I got into vinyl because I could buy it for cheaper than CD’s at one point. Now the margins are so thin for artists that maybe it’s time to support them in other ways.

 

4 mil outer sleeves on all my records has made a huge difference. I feel like the standard ones do absolutely nothing being so thin. Next step eventually is replacing all the shitty inner sleeves with high quality filleted/chamfered ones that are easier to slide in and out. The ones with hard corners are a struggle to get in and out of the jackets depending on how everything was cut.

 

I know a lot of smaller bands and artists are moving back to other physical media like tapes and CDs. Vinyl prices and production times have gotten way out of hand.

 

Any recommendations for inner sleeves?

 

I recently covered all my records with plastic sleeves. My record store sells them for 10 cents each. Bought about 400 lol. Glad to have them more protected now.

I’ve been trying to limit myself on buying records lately.
But my recent orders have been:

Wolf Alice - Blue Weekend
Caamp - Live from Newport Music Hall
John Mayer - Sob Rock
Ocean Alley - Lost Tropics

 

My pre-order list is completely out of control and we are at the point when things show up it’s a total surprise.

 

I think the only thing I have coming in is Marietta's As It Were repress. Which is a great deal of relief for me.

Well, aside from that AAR - Move Along repress that didnt seem to happen anywhere but Newbury Comics.

 

I ordered this from Banquet and just went to check on status and realized I never got a confirmation email. Anyone have experience with Banquet to know if this is standard procedure or if I should be concerned?

 

Glad to add this to my Jimmy collection. Only had Futures and Clarity so I had to take advantage of the “add a hat, get 20% off your order” sale they had over the weekend.
