man that does look awesome. Reconsidering canceling the deluxe and going with this super deluxe.

  10. Anyone here in the market for some various 7 inch singles from the 1950s-1990s to add to your collection?

I have roughly 400 records that I’m getting rid of so I’m thinking maybe I’d mail out some random packs of 10-20 or whatever for a few bucks.

I have everything from Buddy Holly to Culture Club to Led Zeppelin and everything in between. Hall & Oates, Queen, Sinatra, The Monkees, etc.

I’m very proud of my 7 inch collection but need to make some room on my shelf, and I really don’t listen to them as much as I used to.

If anyone is interested in a pack, PM me and we’ll make it happen!

    10 for $7 shipped
    25 for $14

In your opinion, is eBay or Discogs better for selling your vinyl?

I'm offloading a couple of sealed albums and want the cleanest transaction.

I honestly think your absolute best move is going to be cutting out those types of websites completely and just pricing albums out to what you want on here, Facebook marketplace/groups meant for vinyl. I have seen people price albums out in r/vinyl and move out a ton at once.

by best move, I refer to like... maximizing return. On eBay especially, you are at the buyer’s mercy. Obviously, you have so many transactions under your belt there so you’re used to it, but I think you could be making similar amounts of money without paying platform fees and dealing with some of the potential headaches associated with the potential eBay buyer.

Yeah, I preferred selling on Ebay because people are ridiculous at times on discogs

I... hate this so much. What is wrong with people? I have never tried selling on discogs, and now I may never try it. I feel like some vinyl collectors are just the most particular, worst type of people to deal with. I’ve had someone mad at me because I didn’t ship using the higher quality inner sleeves and instead just had the records in regular old white inner sleeves. Sorry I haven’t committed to putting my 1000 records in expensive sleeves yet! I already spend all my money buying every album I ever see.

Haha I feel you. I've had multiple occasions on Ebay where a buyer gave me specific, absurd instructions on how to package their vinyl, and then try to get a full refund while keeping the record after they received it and see that I didn't follow their ridiculous protocol. For the record I ship my vinyl in the exact same way I receive them.
Also had someone on ebay once request a full refund on sunglasses I sold because there was a finger smudge on the lens and they didnt feel like it was their responsibility to wipe it.
Facebook marketplace is even worse, though.

Facebook Marketplace is always like virtual Pawn Stars. “Macbook Pro? Best I can do is a Big Mac.”

After receiving this feedback from FB marketplace, I am going to rephrase my previous statement about where I recommend selling-
I’ve never actually utilized marketplace. I back vinyl groups- the one I specifically rec is pop punk vinyl sales/trades. I just posted a huge list at the beginning of the year to recoup Xmas money, and made thousands within two days. I shipped like 30 boxes and no one complained so I figure it was all good experiences.

I’ve had horrible experiences being ripped off on eBay, so I’m super biased against it, but I am glad others seem to feel positively enough towards it that they recommend it lol.

I recently listed my desk on facebook marketplace, for a measly $30. I had not one, but TWO people ask me if it includes the computer and speakers that were shown in the picture. And they got very confrontational when I said they obviously were not. People are the worst lol

Also I really want that yellow variant of Ocean Avenue. Gotta remind myself to check on Friday before it sells out.

I once listed a couch for sale on craigs list. One of the pics of the couch had my friend laying on it. Don't ask me why I included in the roll, I was young and just looking to move the thing. Anyway, one person reached out and wanted to know more about the guy. I thought they were kidding, but it turned out they wanted to know if he was single. S T R A N G E.

...I ended up selling it to a sweet old woman who overpaid me by accident. I had to call her and send her a check for the overpayment since she left an extra $100 in the wad of cash she gave me. I've never been back to Milwaukee since.

Does everyone adhere to the rule of not lifting/dropping the needle midsong? I’ve read a handful of times that this causes pops/clicks but have done a handful of times anyway.

Haven’t noticed any impact the next time I listen to the record, so wondering if the negative impact on the vinyl is something that “may happen” but rarely does.

    shrug
