Couldn’t find the We Came As Romans thread, but I feel like they deserve a box set.

 

My R.A.P. Ferreira record finally came in. This thing was unexpectedly expensive so I’ve been super nervous about it being being handled in the mail. Not a scratch, bend, or dent!

 

I know this is a vinyl thread, but I’m selling my old pop-punk/rock cd collection. What should I expect to get per CD if I sell or trade them in???

 

Are you familiar with the app decluttr? They’ll give you a quote for your collection and you can see how much they’ll pay for each specifically. It’s minuscule amounts, less than a dollar for most, but it’s ~something. I was dumb and never sent the box but I was quoted $33 for a little over 100 CDs.

I got rid of all my old CDs but kept the booklets for some reason.

 

Yea I tried that app. It was like giving me 5 to 10 cents per CD. I just had a guy message me on FB and he is gonna pay me $1 per, he has a record shop and has some CD’s on the side for people to shop through. Says he prices them from $3-$5 so he will make some profit.

 

Have 3 preorders all being delivered/shipped next Friday.

10-15 years ago, I used to always go to the Buybacks or CD Warehouses where they'd buy and/or sell used CDs and DVDs (I assume these places don't exist anymore). I remember back then those places were only buying used CDs from people for like $1-$2 and then selling them for $5-$6...and that was before streaming/re-popularity of vinyl when people were still buying CDs.

I don't want to say CDs are worthless now, but I can't imagine anyone giving more than a $1 for them used.

I hope I'm wrong, as I have 600+ cds sitting in boxes in storage in my basement that I hope to one day do something with.

 

You might wanna do something quick, because I don’t ever see the value of a CD ever improving. I should’ve moved on from mine quicker, but finding this guy who has a vinyl store helps...

 

I sold my collection of 1000+ CDs to decluttr a few years ago. Most of them went for like 5-10 cents but a portion of them returned decent value. I think I came away with like $350, which I was more than happy with for getting rid of them in bulk. Hard to see CD prices going back up in the future, though people probably thought the same about vinyl and cassettes.

I plan to hang onto mine. Not worth it to me to give them up for a few hundred bucks (if that?). Never know if/when they make a comeback like vinyl did. Also think it'll be cool to pass along to my kids someday along with my vinyl collection.

I also have about 500+ DVDs collecting dust in my basement too

I've been having an argument with myself for like the last hour about this. I missed my chance on the last pressing, but also I've spent SO MUCH MONEY on vinyl this past month, like so much that I don't even remember what I should be expecting in the mail. Maybe I should chill out lol

 

Im in the same boat, only thing is I have this on vinyl from Hot Topic, pink variant for the 10 year.

 

Okay I’ve found two really rare metal and hardcore records this weekend and had to sell a kidney
