I'm pretty sure that anything not on pure black wax typically has a bit lesser sound quality over time. Initially everything will sound equal in quality, but colored deteriorates a bit quicker due to a lesser carbon content than what black records are pressed with. Picture discs are much worse, they deteriorate more over the span of far fewer plays than either colored or black due to their different pressing process and shallower grooves

 

Yea I know variants in general aren't as high quality. I just seem to have really specific trouble when it's clear - worse than any colored vinyl. Maybe it's just been bad luck.

Quick question for you guys who have shipped records. I went to both UPS and FedEx yesterday to ship out two mailers. The girl at FedEx had no idea what media mail was and said they couldn't ship to a PO box. The girl at UPS said they couldn't ship records media mail anymore, it was only for books. I literally just shipped a record a few months ago through them using media mail.

Have any of you ever experienced this? Am
I wrong in thinking I can send through media mail?

same! i ordered one for my girlfriend. she's gonna be stoooooked! especially because it'll be here right before the paramore show we are going to.

 

I got teal and got my order confirmation then realized the billing address was not updated. I emailed them right away and gave them the correct address so I'm really hoping that doesn't fuck anything up and I don't get it, I will be so upset.

 

Damn, the teal is already sold out, glad I got that orange pressing from UO last week (which I just checked and is still available for anyone interested)

 

I'm skeptical 500 people would want this. I can't imagine with how overly produced this album was that it would sound good on vinyl. Kind of defeats the purpose.

I'm trying to figure out why they're popular outside of being "hip" Vinyl sounds incredible, and the presentation of vinyl is awesome too. Tapes are small, hard to find specific songs, sound quality average.

 

I picked up a handful about 2 years ago because they were cheap and my only way to listen to music in my old car was via cassette, radio or a really shitty FM transmitter. Now I have them sitting around and I'm trying to sell them haha.
