So is this legit a "Cartel's Version" or are we getting the original recording and (hopefully with the original Save Us)? I haven't really been following on this.

 

Hopefully mine shows up before the weekend because it's coming straight to me and Canada Post is tentatively striking again after Friday.

It’s the re-record. No repress. Label wouldn’t let them, so they did the re-record instead.

 

It’s not a repress, unfortunately. The “yes” is for vinyl in general.

 

I say Cartel hits it out of the park with the re-record. I’m excited to hear it.

 

Chroma and The Question about to destroy my budget

 

I remember hotboxing their tour van in Buffalo in 2006 on the Copeland, TSL tour. Sitting with Nic, Kevin, Joe, and Ryan and I was like guys "A" is like Goodbye Sky Harbor. They were like OMG that's exactly what we were trying to do!

Then watching TSL from backstage and Kenny says to the crowd you are kicking the shit out of Toronto right now (from the night before). After they finished I talked to Kenny for a bit and said I was from Toronto and he started to apologize profusely for that comment. Haha it was funny, (I was also baked out of my mind).

Who was it about a year ago that did a re-recording and then the label went ahead and released the original recording shortly after? Completely blanking. Definition of a shitty move.

 

Didn't Saosin re-record their self titled album and then Smartpunk was able to release it?

Another story from the Smartpunk days: I bugged Fearless for tickets to that in Anaheim since Gatsby’s was on the tour. Was super excited to see TSL and Cartel, but Tom split his finger wide open a few songs into TSL’s set when his stick split and they ended early. :(
