With the UK pressings, now that they’ve swapped distribution they are starting to fulfil them all. I did wonder if they are playing catch up, sorting out all the previous issues and backlog before rolling anything new out. That would be logical though.

 

They never did send me the replacement vinyl and after multiple emails, I've given up.

That’s so shitty. Have you tried messaging them on Instagram? I got some luck on there but they’re so bad at replying to anything. Seems like burying your head in the sand is their preferred option. Was this the replacement for the non-Promise version?

 

I wonder if part of the issues is that there was a change in distribution. I think that changed, right?

I wonder if I got lucky asking the older team and the new one just doesn’t care. Or am I totally wrong on that?

 

I tried Instagram too after someone here said they received a response but I got ignored there too. Yes, replacing the non-Promise version which isn’t the end of the world but this hobby’s expensive and we shouldn’t have to settle for either damaged or not as advertised records.

 

I think you might be onto something. Could be the opposite based on my timing. Maybe I give it one more try and see if the new team assists?

 

All you have to lose is the 60 seconds it’ll take to send the email.

 

2 months later after thinking this got lost during the Canada Post strike and Rude Records saying it was lost... It showed up last night. I'm still waiting on my Lauren Mayberry solo record still... Sounds great!

A little over a week until we bid these gents farewell!

I recently received a couple records from Smartpunk, both had seam splits on the top and bottom and I reached out for replacement jackets. They had none, which is ridiculous and not acceptable IMO. I would think any pressing a label would order extras for damage control. It’s so expensive to buy records and I won’t be buying from any label that doesn’t package their stuff well enough to prevent this from happening. I just got my Dine Alone order and that thing was expertly packed, and I’m thrilled. As for the price these places are charging for shipping, they ought to stand behind what they are selling.

To which I emailed them about and explained this was simply more than a split seam, it was like a jagged knife was taken to it and they said sorry but does it play??? Lol and referred me to their policy.

 

That’s even worse than mine, I haven’t liked them ever but that seals the deal. ✌️

That seam split would be an instant credit card chargeback if they did not help me with a replacement. Instant.

 

You should have slashed the actual record and been like “nope! it doesn’t play. refund me.”

 

Yeah....this didn't even occur to me until posting it here lol. I told them it did already and that was that.

Holy shit, finally! Great album.

 

I wish it contained demos rather than a live album, but I'll take it!

 

I actually feel the opposite. I think it’s cool to hear what a band sounded like touring on a certain record more personally.
