that liquid filled PVC sleeve seems like a recipe for disaster (not to mention it's $60 USD). ended up going with the grey w/white & black splatter with white cover.

 

Thank you for sharing this. Caught it just before going to bed last night and ordered the white cover splatter variant, and it looks like it's sold out now.

 

Liquid-filled anything related to vinyl always seems like a bad idea to me. If it leaks it's ruining everything else on that shelf too.

 

I mean, I'm interested, but I should probably slow down on buying stuff right now

 

Right?? Playing a liquid-filled piece of plastic with a sharp needle is begging for disaster haha

 

Years down the road it'll dry up. I have the movie Ichi the Killer on DVD and the disc came in some "blood bag". Needless to say it dried up years later so I could see the case being no exception.

 

iirc, i thought i saw some other bands doing similar sleeves earlier this year (i think The María's?) and a bunch of them ended up drying out, leaking, or developing mold? not to mention PVC outer sleeves are never a good idea. as cool as the idea is for sleeves and records, i don't think there's a good way to ensure the product is gonna last.

 

Ive got the 1975 BFIAFL Blood Records liquid filled vinyl. Only time I jumped on this gimmick since it's one of my favorite albums over the last 5 years.

Its essentially two discs glued together with the liquid inside. Plays fine and sounds as good as the album is gonna get. Well see if it leaks or dries up years from now haha.

 

Yeah pvc outer leaves are the WORST! I just got the white cover and that's it for me.

 

legitimately the only reason i haven't picked up BMTH's amo on vinyl yet is because i don't have a good substitute for the printed PVC sleeve they decided to package everything in. i've picked up others in PVC sleeves before and had no problem placing them in standard inner and outer sleeves backed by cardboard for support, but part of the artwork IS the PVC sleeve, haha.
