Broken Words/Walking Pipebomb - 7" Bundle

 

My Good for Me record just came in (along with the new Snarls), and it came with a test pressing of My Everest?? Not sure if that’s a mistake, but really cool to see!!

 

Grabbed a copy of the Blue Sky Noise remaster from Target, $20.99 seemed too good to be true for a double LP but I know it’s been out for a little bit now. With free Red Card shipping it felt like a no brainer. Anyway, it came today and sounds incredible

my target had a bunch of vinyl on clearance so I picked up Bleachers new one for $24 and Kacey Musgraves newest one for like $17

It has me now wanting to check other targets in the area to

 

My American Hi-Fi record arrived today. Gave it a spin while making dinner and had a blast. Some damn solid pop-rock tunes on that thing.

 

Can we ban standard, white mailers? They fucking suck.

Yeah, Parting Gift, was trying to find some post about them doing that. Cool if that is the case, glad I got lucky.

On a related note, do y'all play test presses, or leave them in sleeve?

Do you get excited when records come with extra stuff? (stickers, poster, etc.)
What are some extra things you got in records that were really cool?

Posters are cool but I never put them up. I kinda forget the inserts are even there most of the time.

I made a post before about how some guy transferred his Taylor hype sticker onto the outer sleeve, now that's just nonsense

 

idk if they still do it, but it was always funny to get records from Polyvinyl bundled with Airheads

 

I typically try to save the hype stickers and put them on my record players/speakers/wherever else. Same goes for other stickers that are higher quality. I don't do a ton with posters in my apartment, but I usually keep them in the sleeve, and should find a better way to display/own them lol.

 

I don't care about extras. Just give me a pressing that looks and sounds great.

 

I wish the records all came with download codes. I miss those things.

 

bare minimum, if you're gonna include a download code, at least all a choice of audio format/quality. it's weird to open up a copy of the new Knocked Loose album and get a download for a 160 kbps MP3 copy.

 

i liked that brief moment when some labels would include a CD copy with the vinyl release.

 

The CDs would always make a weird indentation on the record cover if it wasn't packed correctly, but otherwise yeah that was cool.

I was sooooooo irked by that. Like, WTF? It's 2024. I haven't had a 160Kbps MP3 in my collection in well over a decade now, exception being b-sides and rarities that are otherwise unavailable.
