I’d completely forgotten about Anadivine. Listening to Zoo right now and I can’t believe these guys didn't stick around. This album still holds up. Anyone remember what happened with them? Were they another unfortunate casualty of the early ‘00’s boom?

 

The EP is great too. Alcohol and Oxygen on the EP with the breakdown is sick. The Stalker and the Songwriter and of course Cross Your Heart (with Claudio) were some big jams for me in 2003/2004.

I believe members went on to form the band Nightmares For a Week.

 

I fucking loved the EP. That was prime HS for me, good fucking times. Zoo was an ok followup, I always felt they lost what rawness and edge the EP had. More......polished? And at the same time softer. But yeah I'm forever grateful Claudio discovered them. Plus the EP artwork was badass.

Almost gave me a heart attack thinking their was a vinyl pressing.....

I love that album so much. My friends go to see them w Acceptance and Dead Poetic back in the day and I am forever jealous

 

Might be old news since I don’t think it’s been widely publicized or anything, but Punchline’s Action is finally getting a repress. So happy.

Brush and inner/outer sleeves came yesterday, putting them on as I listen through my collection seems a little less daunting than doing it all at once

 

I always do the inner and outer sleeves based on how old they are. I feel like the older ones need some extra love

 

for the outer sleeves, i think i threw on Laurel Hell and another album over Bluetooth while i sleeved my collection. for the inner sleeves, it took about a week, tackling a different stack every night for a couple hours while i threw something on the TV (might've been Breaking Bad, iirc). depending on how many you have, it shouldn't take that long, but it's probably advantageous to do it the way you're doing if you don't want to block off so much time all at once.

 

I do this way and it makes sure I get to listen to things I've either put off or just don't normally listen to.

I started with getting outer sleeves in 2020. I first started out with my "stack" which was new and needed to be spun first. I then went through my collection and picked my absolute favorite albums and threw those in outer sleeves until I finished my pack. Last year I started putting the records themselves in anti-static sleeves and outside of the jacket. So now my shelf looks extra full and it's taking forever.

 

i have mixed thoughts on storing the disc outside the jacket. it seems as though it's ultimately a personal preference at this point, but i don't fully buy the idea that it stops ring wear entirely, especially if a disc stored in the back is pressed up against the front cover of the record behind it. for me, the jacket is there to add an extra layer of protection, and it just bothers me having a disc - even if covered with two thin layers of HDPE/rice paper and plastic - more or less exposed to other records on your shelf. not only does it take up more space, but if you have the pressure of other records pressing up against the exposed disc, that seems like it could warp the discs. maybe it's a little better if you have them spaced out quite a bit, but there's a chance that having your records lean against one another might add unnecessary pressure. not to mention, if the outer sleeves is too tight a fit, storing one or more discs in a space with marginal room would amplify that pressure. idk. i get that it's convenient, but i tried it very briefly and found it was putting too much pressure on both the jacket and the back of the outer sleeve. obviously, do whatever you want, but i think maybe one of my record jackets has ring wear, and that's likely because it's my oldest record and was made with flimsier cardboard. otherwise, i've had no problems storing them in their jackets (albeit with new inner and outer sleeves).

 

Oh okay good, I can start doing it that way, it makes more sense to me than the couple vids I saw of people sleeving their Taylor records outside the jacket

I've always just left my records in their sleeve. I try not to pack my shelves too tights and have never had any problems.

 

This guy transferred the hype sticker from the plastic onto the outer sleeve and it looks so ugly. I guess don't follow everything you see online

 

sleeving Taylor has always been a mixed bag, especially if you plan on storing discs outside of the jacket (even with extra large outer sleeves). it sucks that (aside from Fearless TV) she insists on packaging her releases in double gatefolds, but at least (if sleeved properly) they'll somehow fit reasonably within their jackets. the bulk of the extra cardboard and the tightness of the outer sleeve make it difficult to store one or more discs outside the jacket unless you either sandwich some between the gatefold or use a combination of storing them inside and outside of the jacket (which i've seen people do with Red TV). TTPD ruined this method by using a slightly wider jacket and sandwiching a booklet between the gatefold. i keep seeing TikToks of people struggling to not only put it in a standard sized outer sleeve, but then go ahead and store BOTH records in the back of a package that's already a tight fit. unless you buy extra large sleeves, it's just not worth it.

i only ever keep hype stickers if a) the record was packaged in a lower quality outer sleeve but came with a hype sticker affixed to it and i just want to transfer it over to a new outer sleeve, or b) it makes aesthetic sense. your records won't lose any value if you don't keep a hype sticker, and sometimes it's not worth the hassle it takes to remove the sticker from different kinds of packaging (particularly plastic-free alternatives).
