I definitely paid 15-20 dollars at Best Buy for a CD in the early 2000s. Vividly remember The Wall, Coconuts, and FYE being the stores that were a complete rip off though. 25 dollars easily depending on the release. Same with their DVDs.

 

Yeah, I remember the mall music stores, Barnes & Noble, and Borders being the most expensive, for sure.

SRC had a "vault" find of 7 copies. They obviously didn't charge retail of what they charged back when they released this variant. But I figured I'd pay the cash since I know it goes for double (and then some) for what it goes for on Discogs.

 

Wow, when and where did that pop up?

 

Yeah is there a way to set up notifications if they have a vault release?

 

Wild discount price if you still need it and want to trust them to actually mail it.

Shipping from Canada made this close to the prices I see on US sites. Gotta grab this at some point, just balancing the right price with seeing fewer copies in the wild

 

I think I've had an order get cancelled when they said it was in stock. They also double shipped me an order twice. I think that's about the weird experiences I've had with them. But I'm glad I never pre ordered any of their exclusives from 2019. That's where folks had issues with them.

But yeah I seldom order from them but my AvA showed up a few days after I ordered. Albeit, I didn't get a shipping notification.

Cartel ST has been on discount forever now. At least 2 years haha.

 

Nahh, I just follow them on Facebook. They announced a vault release but didn't say who it was. They said to sign up for their newsletter for news... I did and didn't even get one. I was just on their website at 9am and saw it get added so I figured that was the vault release. It was $99 cdn. But figured that's the cheapest I'd get it...

Their last vault release was Far's first album. It's still available but I ordered that off Thirty Something and I'm still waiting on it.

 

The initial post. I can say it wasn't gone that quick. I grabbed the first copy and it was still in stock for at least an hour.

it wasn't exactly a criticism of variants, but a criticism of incentivizing people to buy more than one variant to boost sales, all paired with non-sustainable manufacturing practices (which she attempts to combat by using recycled PVC and packaging).
