when I was 16, my grandma ran a thrift store and someone dropped off the 4 The Police albums. They were one of the first old bands I considered “cool” (probably because of that emo covers album of the police). So I asked for one of those record player/radio things for my birthday or something. Honestly I have no clue how I got the player but I did. It wasn’t until a couple years later that I realized bands I liked put out vinyl and then it was a wrap

They fixed your brain when you were young.

Got the Thrice - Vheissu hot topic exclusive. I thought it was cool because Thrice is my favorite band and thought it was kind of neat that the artwork was different colors than the CD. So that made me start collecting albums that I liked, but also thought the art was really cool for. I do graphic design and like to flip through tactile items for inspiration sometimes. Then at some point, once I had like 10 records I had no way of playing, I decided to get a record player to listen to them.

We reach for the longest shadow

I saw Four Year Strong's Enemy of the World on clear orange vinyl at a Hot Topic and bought it on a whim. I was a big CD collector already, and that overlapped until I got an AUX plug in my car, but never delved into records until I bought that one on a whim. I could've held onto it for nostalgia's reasons, but once the price of that one started creeping up I sold it.

My Collection - Discogs also my discogs. I run a pretty tight ship, so most of my collection is anchored in Coheed, Protest the Hero, Anberlin, and Circa Survive from a value perspective.

think the only things missing are a few CDs that never made it into the database. not sure if i'll add them.

one of my biggest regrets was not picking up TPOWT the night i saw them/bought Absence. would love a copy to complete my collection.

I sent chad a message and he told me they might have some more copies lying around in their storage unit, whenever they get around to cleaning it out... I still have hope, but vinyl left lying around only means one thing... Dont want to buy it if its gonna be another FSF situation

    My Collection - Discogs

I've got a good chunk of my collection for sale right now, and willing to take offers on just about everything (trying to fund a new turntable setup using only record sales and I'm about halfway there).

that definitely concerns me. my copy of JT's solo album is warped beyond playability because it was stored in an attic. then again, those extra copies of MUTEMATH turned out great. my hope is that any extra for TPOWT are in good condition. here's hoping we hear soon!

  21. I was considering the Target Exclusive for the new Kacey Musgraves but I wasn't really diging the half-opaque/half-transparent red so I went to look at the other variants and the alternate cover on her store is fucking gorgeous. I think I like the Amazon green splatter the most tho but it's sold out
