Girlfriend’s never really been that into Vince, but Vince Staples by Vince Staples turned her head a bit. Today when I woke up I walked into the living room to hear my copy of Summertime ‘06 spinning on the turntable. This is a Vince house now

His track on the new Alchemist EP is pretty nice

 

Listening to this today, wondering if Ramona Park is still coming out this year. Would be really bummed if he scrapped it because of the response to Vince Staples.

 

Everyone I know and have seen online on my end loved the album. He probably is just gonna wait until after the Tyler tour to drop the other one

 

Yeah don’t get me wrong, anecdotally most people I know loved it too. I just remember when he posted asking for feedback and it felt like there were a lot of people lukewarm on it because of the length (dumb imo). Hope you’re right though!

 

The reception I’ve seen has been super mixed. It feels like in areas specific to music discussion it got a lot of positive attention, whereas people on Instagram and Twitter had no problem complaining about the length or that it sounded like he didn’t even wanna be rapping anymore

 

Man, that's just such a wild complaint to me. I think this is his best project overall (the length lends to its replay value) and I absolutely love the relaxed flow and beats here, but maybe that's just a preference I have within the genre in general
