FM! is probably his weakest album (not counting the EP’s) but it’s also the most fun I return to that one pretty frequently actually. Enjoyable interview—raccoon segment had me lol’ing. Exciting that he’s got lots of music in the stash just waiting for the right time.

 

I still really want that special edition of Summertime 06 on vinyl.

 

fm is probably the weakest but i think its still incredible

 

hell yeah, FM was a fun little project but I'm definitely excited to see where he takes his sound on the next one. I'm hoping he gets weird with the production like on BFT.

Based on this passage, don't seem like he's in the mental headspace to write something like that again, but I hope to be wrong!

All right. This is Vince Staples.” Your lyrics are hardcore. There's hardcore gangster rap, but it's not over-the-top like your stuff, which still somehow feels light. How do you find that balance?"

“Everyone's busy,” he said. “Because [the listener] just got off work. They might hate their wife. They might hate their husband. They might hate their kids. They hate their job. They hate the car. They hate the house. Life's not perfect. They don't have time to try to figure out what you're trying to tell them. You're just supposed to make them feel better and make them feel good. Put them in a specific space.”

And that's just something that I've been thinking about a lot. Something that I learned from him. I'm just learning how to have a balance of everything within the same space and just not necessarily put a lot of pressure on what we create."
