Yeah wish I could say I liked this, but probably my least favorite record of his. Cool direction or whatever, just not my speed at all.
Thank you. He still sounds tired on this, maybe one coffee deep. But it sort of fits the content. I just would like him to switch it up more vocally
The four-year run from Summertime ‘06 to FM is so good. Everything after for me has been some song I thought were great and a lot of others where Vince sounds kind of sleepy. I still think he’s an incredible lyricist and visionary and one of the funniest people alive.
its the run from Stolen Youth to Big Fish for me, generational stuff. very little since has worked for me but I'll give this a try at some point
Listened to this this morning. It's okay, agree with the repetitiveness comments. Cotton and Do You Know the Devil are good, but don't see myself coming back to it much.
Damn, I guess I'm alone in here but this is my favorite by him since Big Fish Theory. It has the energy I was missing from him (although I do really like the last three, especially Dark Times), has super cool instrumentals that I think he sounds great over and really catchy choruses the whole time. His lyricism is always on point but feels super relevant to right now on here too I do see myself coming back to this for sure
Been playing this like every other day since it came out. So easy to get through. I like the chill delivery.
Holy shit the performance of Tulsa, OK blew me away. I’m going to have to go pick up the CD or vinyl tomorrow just for that.
This album has grown on me with each listen. Probably my third or even second favorite of his at this point. TV Guide is the only one that doesn’t do too much for me, but even the second half hits.
Got the vinyl for this. Tulsa, OK is a great track. I do kind of see why it’s a b-side. It kind of just ends. The live Verizon feels like a much more fully realized version of the track. That being said, I think I’d still give it the nod over TV Guide on the album.
