This is great. My favorite changes every time I listen. Length of this is so much better than the trend of 20+ song albums/mixtapes/playlists.
I'm constantly amazed by this. I'm usually the kind of guy that will initially not like something and then grow to like it. This on the over hand is amazing off the bat.
Yep. I honestly don't know if it's legitimately my favorite track or if I'm just biased because Justin Vernon produced it.
As someone who didn't listen to a single song going into the album I love the length. Bumping this in a car is fantastic.
This is so so so good. I knew it would be good, but it's a different direction than I was expecting after Prima Donna and it's fantastic. 745 is my early non-single fave, what a good beat.
I wasn't too into the singles so my expectations were low but this was great and everything was way better in context, very complete album.
Dammit. I went to the store to buy the CD and it's literally just a CD in a jewel case like "Yeezus." I need art and an insert!
So I've been drinking Always liked rap but have been a mostly casual listener (can't be an enthusiast about everything) but since Yeezus I've been waiting for a rap album to realize the potential of fully embracing club/dance music and this is it. It's so utilitarian, the production choices are great, the lyricism is sleek but not showy and I feel like Vince and the beats take a 50/50 balance. I did not think I'd ever hear a popular rap album with two UK garage songs and Kendrick rapping over Sophie but he did it. Whole thing makes me feel really elated and the last half is actually relentless. I hope this starts a trend for club and rap playing off each other's strengths because that's essentially my utopia and I feel like it's been fully realized here Can't imagine a time where I'll hit play on Crab and not hear the end of Rain. Cohesive, heady, slammin' front to back. All about this.
This is soooo fucking good. The production is absolutely insane, I didn't realize how badly I've been wanting a rap album like this. I was about to start listing favorites but then I realized I was about to type almost the entire tracklist. Super happy with this Not at all surprised at the length though, this is the second longest Vince project after Summertime, and that was technically a double album. All of his mixtapes were really short
I don't know how aware you are of this but you might want to look into some UK rap and grime if you're looking for more combinations of rap and electronic music
