What’s a fucking shame to me is that the legacy of something like id software has to now be tied up in massive corporations because they got bought. Private equity really does just ruin everything

Nearing the end of main game of HK, I've never done the DLC or anything, is that just easily accessible post game?

 

I think any version you buy these days should have them yeah. They are a bit hidden

 

Psychonauts 2 is an incredible game so anyone with ps+ should definitely download that and play it

 

Been playing the new Story of Seasons (previously known as Harvest Moon). I have loved the formula since I played AWL as a kid when it came out on GCN, but I can’t say I haven’t been disappointed by many (not all) subsequent releases, and to be honest I didn’t have a lot of faith in them anymore to make anything that is better than okay, but I was wrong. This is so pretty, so polished, so fun. I don’t know what happened between RF5 and this (and Guardians of Azuma), but whatever it was, it worked. Came out exactly at the right time too.

 

Are there combat/rpg elements to the game?

 

I think it was hinted at before but the Expedition 33 director confirmed more Clair Obscur!

 

Expedition 34

 

As much as I'm loving the map design and overall gameplay of Dark Ages, some of these levels are just too damn big haha. Sometimes it takes me multiple sessions to beat just one. Feel like a grandma for not being able to game for prolonged lengths of time

so clair obscur is their "final fantasy" huh. I wonder if other games in the franchise are also going to be art themed

 

I haven't played yet so I dunno what's going on.

part of me doesn't care about Clea's conflict in the outside world. gimme another painting to jump into.

 

it's really hard to talk about Clair Obscur as a franchise without spoiling the shit out of Expedition 33.

 

The premise of the game is that every year everyone in certain age will die as a sacrifice to the paintress, and a group of volunteers goes out to try to end it. Every expedition has died, the age of the people that are sacrificed in this game is 33. So 34 was not successful.

I care more about clea than Maelle's story. I just hope if it's a dlc it doesn't have to do with Verso or Maelle and if it's a sequel it's something independent from this story. There was a lot to love in that game but also a lot of bizarre choices and things that keep me from ever wanting to play it again.

 

if we're to return to the Dessendres then yes i agree we should focus more on Clea, but i think it would be more compelling to leave that family's story altogether.
