There are few games more synonymous with their creator than Kojima is with MGS. They are just cashing in on the success of the title/franchise, it’s pretty shallow and selfish.

 

I’m also usually an optimist and not bothered by sequels and remakes no one is asking for @Penlab but this just falls into a different category that we don’t come across often.

 

I wholeheartedly agree. I’ve been trying to put into words why an MGS sequel without Kojima doesn’t make sense, but those games just live off his personality.

kinda like how ludicrous it was when someone suggest Brandon Sanderson to finish song of fire and ice.

Death Stranding is proof he learned his lesson regarding female characters imo.

 

I don’t think we need to be optimistic about a company that abandoned the gaming industry to make pachinko machines and only came back when they saw money in nostalgia bait remakes

 

That said their output so far has been fire. That Suikoden(?) demo is sick

not to mention the incredible silent hill 2 remaster.

Konami is dead to me until they bring back Mystical Ninja

 

The fact that Konami has been riding so high on nostalgia, even things like Rocket Knight, Getsufumaden, and Suikoden that they hadn't touched for years and is willing to give them to third parties like WayForward and Limited Run that know what they're doing strike me as good signs, actually.

 

But alas, also this. Wherefore art thou, Goemon?

 

Konami brought back silent hill.

Konami also brought back suikoden with NOT ONLY the first two games but a new mobile game in the overarching lore (something we've been missing for decades).

Konami is a-ok in my book now. Just make moar Lords of Shadow games plz.

 

Yeah, fuck Metal Gear, bring back Castlevania, and as something other than DLC for other games, please.

Stoked for this. Mirage was a fun as hell AC game, I'm glad we're going back to Basim. Maybe we'll even get some more backstory pertaining to the lore.
