I know right? I still haven't gotten the Switch 2 yet but this and Elliott have made me want it even more now.

So it’s essentially an offline non gacha version of the mobile game? Nice I’ve heard the mobile game is actually really good aside from the normal mobile game stuff. Sounds like it’s mostly built from the ground up anyway and just uses certain story elements from the mobile game

For the most part yeah. The ability to create a character is new, that wasn't in it or the town building mode it mentioned. The phrase Squeenix used was "reimagining" so it'll be interesting to see what they do. I stopped playing after about a year (too many other games) but the first arc was A+ and just as good as anything in 1 or 2. I do wonder if they'll connect the prequel, as it's said in CotC that they're "parallel worlds" connected by gates but I always considered that their excuse to introduce gacha versions of characters from 1 and 2.

It'll be interesting to see sales and see if other games start to port their games to offline versions once servers eventually close. Some aren't worth it at all but CotC was very good and I'm interested to see what I missed out on.

 

Nintendo should stop being fucking cowards and release the Dragalia Lost offline version.

Playing ff10 for the first time lol. I've played almost all the mainline ones other than 16 bc I don't have a PS5 but this is pretty good so far

 

Just bought Tekken 8 for $16 at Walmart. Not sure how the reviews were, but it’s always been my favorite FG series and excited to play it for that price.

 

Finished South of Midnight the other night

Really enjoyable game but I feel like the third act was definitely a bit of a letdown. It all felt a bit rushed and convoluted. Really needed a final boss fight against Roux and Bunny but instead it was all just over

Still worth playing on gamepass. Music and vibes are pretty great. Wasn't really expecting "Psychonauts meets What Remains of Edith Finch meets the American South" but it overall still worked well

 

well, with the Season 2 patch pretty much everybody is furious, lol
i still think it's fun- i'm not at the level of play where the complaints about the mechanics affect me (though i haven't been able to hop on much lately)

WARNING if you want it on switch it is currently running 30 FPS with plans to upgrade to 60 FPS on Switch 2 at some point. Bummer for me so I went PC.
