Rift Apart looks cool, I had no idea it was ported to PC. I didn't/don't have PlayStation 2 or after so I never played Ratchet and Clank
https://www.reddit.com/r/Steam/comments/1remr54/nukearts_registered_trademark_hidden_cats_in_usa/ So a long time back I totally hopped on the Hidden Cats game trend and I still follow a bunch of those developers. I noticed several of their games had their names changed, and I wondered about it but never looked into it until now. Apparently NukeArts, who I also own games from, decided to trademark Hidden Cats as their brand and claim everyone else retroactively infringed, forcing them to change their titles or face delisting. It's a big fucking mess, and such an absolutely scummy thing to do to small developers.
rolled credits on Mina after fighting the final boss I don't know how many times. the final generator was like a second (and third) form and it was brutal. it was one of those situations where I thought about making it a little easier "if I die one more time" but never actually did - glad I stuck with the base difficulty. really loved my time with it and could see myself playing around with new game + down the line. still easily my GOTY so far. booted up FF16 late last night because it was added to the PS+ collection and might enjoy some popcorn gaming now.
very very casual gamer update: bought and finished power wash simulator 2 tried to get into the Uncharted games (never played them) but there's a section in the first game where you have to avoid being shot and exploding barrels on a jet ski but to defend yourself by shooting back you have to stop moving entirely and i died 43 times and gave up finally playing God of War Ragnarok, at the mines looking for Tyr now fun
the first three uncharted games have not exactly held up in the gameplay department. still great in the vibes department however
i finished and liked fallen order quite a bit, started survivor but didn't finish it (no good reason)
Yeah Jedi Fallen Order/Survivor (and Stellar Blade which I maintain is closer to Survivor than Sekiro) are extremely souls-lite and good intros
lori's gonna hate me for this but I gave up on Star Wars Outlaws after like 8 hours, too much sneaking around for me. wasn't having fun.
I think at this point I can start every game at mid difficulty but ultimately have to lower at the end.
I finished Survivor but quit Fallen Order because textures were loading weird or not loading at all while I played There was 1 puzzle section that had 0 walls for me while I was playing, it was fucked One day I'll go back
I've played some harder metroidvanias but no proper souls games (from FromSoft, and Bloodborne, Lies of P, etc.). the only difficult game i've played that wasn't a metroidvania was Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice. honestly, i think soulslikes are just metroidvanias that are extremely difficult. like, the difficulty is what defines the genre, moreso than any of the actual mechanics. idk, as much as i love Hollow Knight/Silksong, Dark Souls doesn't interest me. i could mayyyybe give Elden Ring a shot, play as a caster or something.
