I could have swore i saw reports a couple months back that Sony was looking into some kind of disc-to-digital plans and I feel an announcement like this would have softened the blow a little. Because since we're headed towards this all digital future, all companies should be looking into how we digitize our collection rather than expecting us to double (or triple or quadruple) dip.
I’m amazed they’re still in business, can’t be that many people in the world wanting to buy Funko Pop figure and sport cards.
finished RE Requiem today, even by Resident Evil standards the plot was extremely goofy and basically nonsensical by the end, but the game was a blast. Care Centre will go down as one of the goated franchise play areas I think. bring on Veronica
Something I haven't seen as much discussion on is if the PS6 is presumably not going to have a disc drive, there goes a lot of people's Blu-Ray players too... this is an attack on physical media in general
every time i think i might be getting a little bored of The Spirit Lift i unlock or find something interesting, whether it's a new card, a new item, or a new piece of lore.
Half the reason I even bought a PS5 was that it was a way cheaper, yet reliable 4k player. This really, really sucks. I remember convincing my parents to get me a PS2 for Christmas because it could also serve as the family dvd player, truly the crumbling of an era.
Yeah honestly I don’t care about physical games at all but I did buy a disc drive ps5 specifically so it could play my movies lol.
if microsoft shuts down obsidian i will lose it. i hope they’re able to break free and continue existing outside the microsoft ecosystem
Hasn't it been said that Microsoft is going to throw more support to Fallout and Elder Scrolls going forward? I fear they will keep Obsidian open, but only for that reason (which I mean, it's better than shuttering them, but obviously not ideal to take their freedom away).
