I'm so happy there's hype for a fucking racing game again! I've been putting ungodly hours into mastering F1 in Assetto Corsa with my sim racing setup, can't wait for something a little less serious!!!
Nonphysical for GTA is a bummer. I'll wait for a holiday sale probably, I think GTA 5 went to half off just a couple of months later anyways.
I read that they opted to skip a disc version at launch because they were afraid of people leaking things. It does seem like a missed opportunity, though.
Yeah I wonder if it will be something they change now that people know about it, probably not though. I'm still going to buy the game because my partner had a really fun time with GTA V but yeah it's stupid.
I'm glad it's at least just cosmetics but it is a LOT of cosmetics and even if it wasn't that much it's still stupid I was gonna buy and probably won't
I read that too. I can only hope they'll opt to do a physical post release, like Baldur's Gate 3 and Alan Wake 2 chose to do....
Man I fucked with Episode 1 pod racer heavy as a kid lol, another PC game that my dad and I used a USB joystick for. Seeing Sebulba’s pod racer on that Tattooine track is so nostalgic.
Locking some shops behind the ultimate edition of GTA VI is bogus, along with no physical copies containing discs
I dont really understand the problem with the ultimate edition. How is this different than any other game that puts cosmetics behind an upgrade? Just that its integrated into the game a little better?
Not that I care, but I think part of it is that it's unclear if there are still customization options available for people who buy the regular edition, since it's presented as in-game shops. It seems like a lot. It's one thing to drip feed DLC outfits, another to money-lock an entire feature of the game, and one that a lot of players would be interested in. We don't have to justify their predatory decisions.
It’s very lame, but there’s absolutely no way there aren’t other shops in the game offering character and vehicle customization. I’m guessing these are just a couple extra shops that offer a few exclusive cosmetics. Still lame
I think having anything that could be included in a game day 1 but is being held behind a paywall is a scummy mentality. If there are features that are added post launch thus requiring it to be DLC then it’s different.
Out of curiosity, I tried Slay the Spire 2 on touchscreen/tablet and the input is terrible. Turns out a lot of people online are having the same issues when trying to target with attack cards. I tried the first game again to see if it was any better and, while it was, it still wasn't perfect. I get that while it's still in early access this probably isn't a high priority for StS2 but I do hope they get to it eventually, tho tbh I'm perfectly fine with using the mouse on my desktop PC. I've been able to complete a run with every character at least once except for Regent and I'm getting kinda frustrated. On paper he has some really powerful cards, but it always feels so underwhelming. Like, if you don't get the right cards for the build you're absolutely fucked, and all the cards you need are rare. Each other character can manage pretty well with just commons/uncommons. I get that the character is like high risk high reward but it isn't even fun playing him most of the time
I think the other problem is as a market leader, Rockstar sets precedent, which is exactly why people were concerned about pricing. Being okay with them price locking gameplay features like this, while certainly not new, is also not great because it's a beacon for everyone to start pushing the envelope.
I was expecting the game to be $100 for the normal version so I can’t complain too much about the pricing. I do get the lack of physical disc sucks, but I’m also expecting this game to be gigantic and a storage hog so I get why they did what they did.
