finished sonic frontiers last night, had gotten 3/5 zones done a while ago so i decided to finish it up finally. not a bad game, a little rough around the edges and boy are those some rough cut scenes but overall it’s a solid sonic game
Sanabi is absolutely insane and I recommend it to all. I am not done as I'm stuck on what I assume is the one of the later boss fights, and it's a really difficult game so I need a break and to come back to it. I've never been stuck stuck if I just take time to reset. Story... great charming presentation and characters, and I don't have it all figured out, but I sense we're nearing the end and some final twists and turns which is why I think this is close to the last boss fight. Combat... brutal but fun af. It's solely based around a grappling hook mechanic and you are swinging, sliding, jumping, zooming between platforms and enemies in a fast and frantic manner. Surprising amount of 'puzzle' platforming too and a lot of 'you have to get the timing right or you're fucked' sections. You get 4 lives before you die and the auto saves are frequent so difficultly milage may vary, I've struggled. Only con... the dialogue scenes are long (but GREAT story, so don't skip) but there aren't as many stopping points as I'd like to be able to pause. Sometimes you got to click through a lot to get to a point to pause and take a break. Also... yeah, its hard for me. Very frustrating at times. And the combat took a good couple of hours to click. I think I'm pretty smooth at it now, but I've still found it a very difficult game. The bosses are fun, varied and cool and the mechanics of how to beat them are very much 'you'll figure it out - we trust you'. Here's the steam page. Close to a 10/10 for me if it can stick the landing of the story. SANABI on Steam
so did i start FF9, Alan Wake 2, a game from a Humble Bundle, another game i already own? how about none of the above lmfao. i saw Rift of the Necrodancer on my wishlist was on sale so I got it and started it haha me? not a metroidvania, or rogue, or deckbuilder, or open world game??? i don't usually play rhythm games so this is kinda a new experience and a bit of a challenge for me, even on the easiest difficulty. it's hard to get the hang of the different monsters' behaviors but i've been able to beat every level after a couple tries so far. i do like a reverse isekai and the characters are cute/charming, so i'll try to at the very least finish the story mode.
I finished the Dark Brotherhood, so now I'm maybe finally gonna start the Oblivion main quest after logging 120 hours. By comparison, I put 397 into the original, so I've a long way to go.
wasn’t the art director or someone just posting some (seemingly desperate) stuff about how they’re cooking? which yeah means it’s probably getting canned
thought i saw a rumor that it was still happening (no clue where i saw it), but i genuinely wouldn't be shocked if it was scrapped. seems like the most likely outcome
This is probably part of Microsoft's restructuring where they're going to try and pump additional resources into speeding up development of Bethesda's big franchises. It sucks that it comes at the cost of other studios/jobs, though. Not to mention that this kind of micromanagement (pun unintended) is probably something Zenimax was leery of when they were originally acquired.
