I plan on playing the final fantasy 7 trilogy when the last part come out but is there any other FF games I should check out beforehand especially with this sale happening? (I’m super new to FF in general besides the characters being in KH)
I really like FF13, I think it's a fun romp with a very interesting battle system. Same goes for 15, especially now that you can mod in DLSS, it looks great. FF13 is more linear whereas 15 is more open.
FF6, FF9, and FFX. Tactics is fantastic too. If you fall in love with the series I'd add 4 and 8 to that list too.
FF6 for pixel-y goodness, one of the highlights of early early FF FF8 since you already know squall (it's also my fav) FF10 is a game that a lot of fans consider the best, the series first entry into PS2 graphics it was considered a huge milestone FF12 was very mmo-ish with its gigantic areas, introduced many new mechanics never seen again, inspired by Star wars FF13 trilogy features one of the coolest protags in Lightning and a very interesting battle system Almost every FF plays different in some sense than every other FF so it's always something different with whichever game you choose.
I think at the time, 12 and 13 were extremely divisive for changing up the battle system COMPLETELY but are looked back as great games. If only the 13 trilogy got a HD rerelease.....
You can mod 4K HUD and videos into 13. 13-2 and LR are a bit of a lost cause. they all NEED remasters, but 13 regular is still stunning
As each year goes by, as each subsequent FF game is released, I always wonder WHEN and WHY squeenix hasn't done it officially. I think it was when 16 was released and the PlayStation was celebrating the franchise with store links to show where players can access the games........no 13. It's seriously a travesty at this point lol.
Hot take but FF13-2 is a top FF game, featuring one of the best songs and one of the best villains ever in a FF game. And I will die on that hill.
FF16 was great. Fantastic music, amazing battles, and the lore was deep. They released a lore book a couple months ago called Logos which is basically an encyclopedia book covering every detail of the world. LOGOS: The World of FINAL FANTASY XVI CBU3 delivered, not that I expected anything less from the team behind FF14.
I was checking to see what final fantasy games I owned on the PS5 and all I owned are the 7 parts and 15. I’m eyeing the final fantasy 1-6 remastered bundle plus 7. I’m also eyeing the lightning collection but idk if I wanna spend that much this weekend lol.
Been thinking more about this and do think it's true 7 and I think 4 come close but 13 I feel just has the best
