The Fatal Frame games are on sale and I’ve been meaning to try them. Which one should I try first? Fatal Frame 2 Remake, Mask of the Lunar Eclipse, or Maiden of Black Water.
Started First Light. Honestly really impressed with the production value and the first mission gave me huge Chaos Theory vibes that I’m all about.
gonna have to give forza horizon 6 a 7/10. nakeyjakey put it best when he said it’s like the absolute best most delicious and perfectly crafted pasta you could possibly find with no sauce. the map is simultaneously immense and engrossing and lifeless and dead. the racing mechanics are as good as they’ve ever been and the tracks are engaging but the races themselves just feel meaningless. i’ve said it a couple times but i’ll say it again, the horizon points needed to advance the last couple of wristbands absolutely slaughtered all sense of momentum and forward progression you feel up to that point. playing on difficulties higher than above average become frustrating rather than actually difficult because all you feel is obvious rubberbanding, not better opponents. and of course it’s all just more of the same if you’ve played any of these games. was it worth the pride of admission? idk, i sank 27 hours into it in less than two weeks which is not something im able to do often anymore. am i ready to be done with it and move onto something else despite the wealth of additional content beyond the festival? yes, i will not be touching this for a while. i really, really hope they do something big with 7 when the time comes. or reboot the series and start fresh. they’ve set the standard for open world racing games and perfected their own formula to a fault. time to go back to the drawing board
Well said. It's the perfect podcast game for me, just mindlessly grinding...but the weeb in me loves the Japan setting and the tuner enthusiast loves the selection of imports they have. I kinda wish we could remove body kits because I love the Integra but good god is it kinda ugly. Ultimately, it's just more Forza.... I hope Fable shows up at the MS show on Monday, I have complete faith in Playground to make a fun game.
I seriously thought you (and anyone else) were just being hopeful, I didn't think wed be getting anything this soon as RE9 was still new. Color me fucking SHOCKED we're getting it so soon too! I knew I'd the rumours saying it was the next title but wasn't expecting an announcement until next year. They opened the show with a giant bang and it set the tone for the rest of it imo.
I give it a 9/10 so far. FH quality is really just predicated on map design. These types of games are actually simple when you break them down to whether the map is fun to drive or not. I think the Japan they've built is just a lot more fun to roam around in than say Mexico in FH5. Mexico was fun and had a lot of personality but it was also a very flat map with very simple roads. When the map is as complex and interesting to drive as Japan, it just elevates all the content. The races and challenges are better because the roads and environments are better. FH6's Japan reminds me a lot of FH1's Colorado weirdly enough. It was almost eerie when the Fall season started as FH1 took place during the Fall. Though I understand the idea they've gotten a lot of mileage out of the current design and perhaps people are looking for something different. FH has been rolling as the best in the genre for almost 15 years now and it's as popular as ever. Hard to say if they want to go back to the drawing board considering the success. Personally, I don't really blame FH for that. It's more the lack of competition in the genre that's the problem.
Finally finished SGF. A lot cool stuff to look forward to. I initially started making a list and then scrapped it. I also watched Day of the Dev’s and lots of great stuff in there too. Excited for more content for First Light and what’s going to be shown Sunday.
The boss in Bone Beach is tough. Almost defeated it last night but forced myself to go to bed, so I’ll try again this morning. I have to say, as hard as Mina is, it hasn’t felt unfair at all.
