I know it’s the video game thread so this is wildly off topic but I did feel pretty proud of myself yesterday when I got approved for a loan and bought a car all on my own for the first time in my life, yall know my history and what I’ve been through so driving that car off the lot was one of the biggest moments of my life. Truly surreal feeling

i'd never get a new car tho, i'm scared i'd wreck it. i'm a shitty driver so i'd rather drive a shitty car. my first car was passed down to me, my second/current car was like $2k. i mean, it still runs just fine, it's just old, got no cd player or bluetooth. and the hood doesn't close properly bc, as i said, i'm a shitty driver, i rear-ended someone five years ago haha...

I've been fortunate enough that my car is a hand-me-down from my mom, but the time is fast approaching when I'll have to think about getting a replacement. Not really looking forward to that.

 

I’m very anti car centric cities but I’m very pro riding around in my car listening to music with no particular destination in mind

 

One thing I miss about having more of a commute to work is more time to listen to albums. There's just something about listening to music in a car.

It’s where I listen to music most of the time. I’ve got about a 25 minute commute and on my work breaks I’m just chilling in my car. Very strong connection between music and the car for me.

 

I did the city living no car thing for a bit. It was fine. Not my favorite thing but not horrible. I still believe more cities should be built to accommodate people without cars and in some instances should completely ban cars. I currently unfortunately live in a city very hostile to people without cars unless you make enough to cover daily Uber costs

I also have to buy a new car within the next 12 months. Not looking forward to it. I’ve driven this one for 15 years and I am attached. I’ll also never have a better car stereo.

 

My kids are getting closer and closer to the car age which means a new car for me

If the world is not on fire I'ma get a RAV4, if the world is still on fire and I know I'ma lose the money anyway cuz we're all gonna die I might get myself somethin fancy

 

My sister owned a RAV4 a long time ago. Nice vehicle, or at least from what I remember.

 

It seems so great, I've ridden in a few and always like em and I'm a current Toyota owner and love mine so I think it'll work out

I’m getting a used car because money. Cars are so expensive here. Probably getting a Japanese one this time. My car for the last 15 years (which was also my first car) was an Opel Astra from 2004.
