I think most people playing gears on ps5 now are people who switched platforms after the 360. But yes a select few people are going to get absolutely fucking curb stomped lol
I’d say it’s up there with some of the most difficult MP out there. For every time you die in COD you have already died 10 in Gears. I say this as someone who has played it for the past twenty years.
Oh, I got a code for the new game. At least I get something for dumping thousands of hours into their games. Lol
Most reviews I've seen stress the importance of knowing the first game beyond a 5 minute recap. *If* you've got the time to spare this is an hour and a half and is VERY VERY informative and goes over every important thing in the game.
I went back and forth about picking up the new Fantasy Life because the art style gave me shovelware vibes, but I finally pulled the trigger because I adore the first one and have heard good things from people I trust. I already put a couple of hours into it today. It’s so much fun. Funny too.
In fact, I’m planning to play this - and THPS next month on Xbox - until the new Story of Seasons (a remake actually) comes out in August, which then carries me to Pokemon in October.
I finished the first one last week and I’d say you’re fine watching a YouTube summary. There are a lot of them. But! It’s one of my favorite gaming experiences. Check out the game itself. It’s on PlayStation Plus if you have it.
Picked Octopath 2 back up after nearly a year of not playing and I almost forgot just how much I love it. Beat the part I had been stuck at and am excited to proceed.
I was gonna start a new file in Death Stranding after getting rekt by some BTs in Chap 2, I haven't played in over a year but then I just looked up how to deal with BTs and it turns out running the fuck away is the WORST thing you can possibly do hahaha. So I reloaded and tried out some different strats and got through the BTs without getting detected
Throw hematic grenades at them, then run. When you get the ability to make the assault rifle level 2, they can kill BT’s and are lifesavers.
Now make your main priority rebuilding the roads. When you pretty much make a highway system, deliveries and just traveling in general are SO much easier.
Having a vehicle and a way to deal with BTs just made this way more enjoyable lol, although i've been digging this game from the rip. I'm glad I jumped back into it i've always wanted to. I'm in no rush to finish but I definitely will before playing 2
Other tips that realizing them made the game easier: Crystals don’t weigh anything and you don’t drop them when you die, so pick them up whenever you see them, even if you don’t currently need them. When going somewhere for a Sam’s Order, take standard orders with you for places on your way for easy likes and leveling places up. Power skeletons drain battery even when not sprinting, but they’re worth it. Build a generator in new places you reach that don’t have one or you’ll be screwed if you can’t recharge them. If you ride a vehicle in the middle line of a road, it doesn’t drain the vehicle’s battery. Put a vehicle in the garage whenever you’re not using it and the durability will go back to 100%. If it’s left out too long, the rain will deteriorate it and you’ll have to keep making more, or…you can take some others make from the online garage. Read the mail in your private room. Even if you don’t read it, if you open emails with yellow subjects, it makes more orders available. If you see a paver that has 0 materials in it to make a road for all three types, wait until you put that area on the network. You’ll see how much others contributed to it and you’ll only need to contribute about half. Otherwise, you’ll put in way more than you’ll need to.
I did the same because I remembered really loving the game and not having a PS5 this is the only way to get my Kojima fix and... wow. Even better than I remembered.
Just got to Chap 3, or Episode 3? I got to 3. V excited, everything so far has felt like a tutorial lol.
