Lego Horizon a perfect example of a game I probably wouldn't pay for, but will play the fuck out of for free.
Some games I have played recently: Pokemon: Let's Go!: What a miserable slog of an experience. I played the original game when I was in elementary school so I didn't know any better at the time, but to make this quasi-remake and faithfully retain so many outdated and bad game design choices? There are multiple trainers who challenge you who will call out 3 of the exact same Pokemon, at the same level. What is the challenge here? To see if you quit out of boredom and repetition? If you understand the elemental weaknesses and keep a diverse party the game becomes a joke. The original 151 are iconic but you can make a better game around them. Untitled Goose Game: A perfect puzzle game. It is never too hard, never too punishing, and it is over before it overstays its welcome or the goose's nihilistic destruction gets too farfetched. You really get a sense that the developers care about making the game accessible to the player, like not requiring you fulfill every challenge before moving on to the next area. Games do not need to cost hundreds of millions of dollars and take dozens of hours to beat. Superhot: Another game with an interesting premise, but depending on how good you are at the game this really starts to get repetitive. It feels a lot like the original Portal in that it mostly functions as a tutorial for itself before really opening up and expecting you to apply everything you have learned. The story thinks it is more slick and subversive than it actually is, though. What Remains of Edith Finch: A truly beautiful game with seemingly endless creativity. Even though it is only two hours long it is constantly shifting perspectives and gameplay styles to a point that you can't stop until it is over. The term "walking simulator" is often used derisively but in this little game shorter than many movies you get to experience playing from multiple life forms, perspectives, and genres. Why play FIFA or Call of Duty when you can play this?
Started ARC Raiders and I'm really into it so far. I've never played an extraction shooter and don't really play any online MP games, but I'm having fun scavenging and shooting ARCs out of the sky. I've only encountered one hostile player so far but a Rocketeer came in and distracted him thankfully.
unlocking a certain character in ball x pit has made life so much easier lmao I’m just doing other things while he takes care of everything
Micro Center remain the GOATs I decided to upgrade back up to 1440p, nothing too fancy. Found a nice Asus monitort thats usually 250 for 99 open box, so I ordered pick up and when I got there the order got cancelled but I didn't see that and they felt bad so just gave me a brand new one for 99 bucks lol. Fucking love this place. I kept telling myself I wouldnt notice the difference between 1080 and 1440 too much but jesus christ this monitor is so much more gorgeous.
