It's not like it's the console.

 

Amazon directly hasn't carried first party Switch games in YEARS. Apparently Nintendo got mad at them for breaking street date a few too many times so for the longest time you couldn't get first party on there. You'd have to hope a third party was selling whatever.

And the ability to simply BUY the game lol.

 

Why was this a thing? Over here Amazon always sold all Nintendo stuff

 

There's never been a 100% reason given but Amazon US has been known to ship stuff before ship date, some people have suggested it had to do with piracy and then releasing the games early results in ROMs being posted online, I even read that there was a Kit & Krysta podcast episode (I didn't listen personally) where they talked to someone who used to be a higher up and that person alluded to disagreements between the two. But hey, it's all resolved now!

But again if anyone's confused, Nintendo sold third party games on Amazon but NOT first party. I could buy any Trails game but Mario or Xenoblade? No sir.
