The Steam Machine (hopefully) will sell better than most niche tiny PC builds, so Valve will have no problem sourcing cheap power supplies and cases. And, I can't stress this enough, does not need to make a profit. If you're buying stuff off the shelf, both the hardware manufacturer and the retailer are getting a decent cut. I could as of today probably not build a machine like that for 600. Let alone 500. (I just watched a youtube video of a guy who built a 600 tiny PC with an rtx 3060 and it was pathetic. We're talking barely above 60fps in Battlefield 6 at 1080p.) So The Verge writer is technically correct but that's just not how closed box systems are assembled.
I’m on the final boss for high on life so that’s cool super simple game ok story and decent gameplay that about it
According to the JP Falcom shareholders meeting, only trails game for 2026 is Sky Remake 2. So no mainline (Daybreak 2) although Daybreak 1 is still on for a January release here in the West. At least that still gives me plenty of time to get caught up!
Yeah. I genuinely think it’s spectacular when it comes to production values but actually playing it is sort of messy and not particularly satisfying imo
other than CO:E33, Hades 2, and Silksong, I think i've spent the most time on TLOU2 (a rerelease), Oblivion Remaster (technically another rerelease) and currently Veilguard (not this year), and the rest were smaller rogues/metroidvanias that i'm pretty sure weren't this year (or even if they were they probably wouldn't be in the running).
If i’m Phil Spencer I definitely wish Steam would’ve told me about their hardware plans for years ago so that the Xbox brand could wrap it up as a hardware producer and just fold into pure publisher mode. The next Xbox console is going to be more or less exactly what the Steam Machine 2/Pro will be from a specs standpoint only differences will be the preferable UI/ecosystem with Steam hardware as well as hundreds of dollars less than whatever Xbox comes out at.
Xbox is dead. They can keep trying all they want but they're not going to get anywhere with hardware anymore. They'll always have dedicated fans but they'll always be in last and now they're going to compete with Steam who is universally beloved. Phil Spencer dropped the ball so hard and it was a pretty easy job. Maybe he should have actually spent time with his teams instead of just spending money acquiring more.
It’s more of a lavender, but between GameCube and being a ravens fan (and my love for codeine-infused beverages) I like the purple for sure
I was just about to post I’ve been playing Ball Pit nonstop. I’m not into rogue likes, but the city builder and upgrading gives a ton of replayability
