    The gameplay IS better than AW1 so if your concerns were gameplay related that will be at least better

    Absolutely play it. AW2 is the kind of sequel that makes the first one seem almost like a rough draft.

    Play Control first if you haven't already, you'll get much more out of Alan Wake 2, plus you'll have played Control, one of the best games.
