If you ever loved DuckTales on the NES, Shovel Knight is for you.

 

I don't really care much for platformers but Shovel Knight is so damn charming and fun. The treasure trove collection is a great deal when on sale for sure.

I was totally going to make this same post earlier today. I'm pretty hyped! Between this and the Rudolph game, what more does one gamer need? Nothing is the answer.

Apparently it's not possible but is in the works according to the devs on discord.

I got it on my Switch 2 and it runs great.

 

As someone who's main platform is Xbox, probably best not to invest in the platform for now. Especially if you're not even in the ecosystem yet. They've been on a weird bender lately and in a multitude of ways. Microsoft is not just currently drunk, they might as well be drunk driving and running over children. I know the Series S is cheap but if you can save up for something else, probably a good idea.

As for Switch recommendations...

Tetris of course. Tetris Effect specifically.

I have a Series S and definitely regret it, especially since Game Pass is a nonstarter now. If it was worth anything, I'd sell it.

Playing a new data file with Stardew 1.6. Love a lot of the additions.

I think my favorite addition is the upgrade you can purchase where you can buy items from Marnie's shop when she is not there. That is Concerned Ape listening to the fans. Stardew players have been complaining years about running out of hay in the Winter and not being able to buy more to feed their animals because Marnie is never fucking there.

 

I wanna play a new jrpg and only have a PS4 bc my switch got stolen. Where should I start if I wanna get into the trails series? Also considering star ocean 2 and chained echoes. I've pretty much played everything else in the genre

 

can you get the original Sky FC on PS4? I know it got a PSP/PS3/Vita release (but maybe JP only? I dunno), I dunno if there's some kind of "buy for those, play on PS4" feature or anything. if you can, then definitely start at the start.

failing that... I guess probably Cold Steel 1? the Crossbell duo feel like there's a lot of "by the way remember Sky?" stuff that happens, I think that happens a decent amount less in CS1 and 2, but by time you hit CS2 Epilogue it starts being like "by the way remember Crossbell?", and then CS3/4 are pretty heavily "hey by the way remember Sky AND Crossbell?" imo.

I'd say ideally Sky FC and then play chronologically, but failing that CS1 and 2 and then hopefully you'll be in a position to go back and play the older stuff and then you can do 3 and 4, or just do CS onwards and go back at some point when you get the chance, but bare in mind you might get some stuff spoiled for you doing that.

 

I would just start from Sky. I cannot imagine starting anywhere else and enjoying things nearly as much what with all the callbacks and crossover.

 

Ngl, playing Alan Wake 2 last night at like midnight with headphones when I was way too tired and should have just gone to bed was a terrifying experience.

Ghost of Yotei…damn, what a good game so far. I’ve been barely doing the main story, just upgrading my skill tree at shrines, doing the bamboo challenges, doing bounty hunting, and hot springs. Even just riding your horse and the camera zooming out to show the awesome view is cool. I need to continue actual story tomorrow lol
