Yes BIG supporter of a 2nd monitor set vertically

 

I'll JFG on main monitor and side monitor has Discord on the top half and either OBS or YouTube on the bottom half depending on what I'm doing

 

I wanna build my dream pc set up with the pc my brother gave me but life got them hands and things keep coming up I have to pay for lol

 

I'm intrigued by this. Why come?

 

A vertical layout is excellent for reading things and clears up space well for other desk stuff

Like due to my space saving I have room for my MPC on my desk alongside my keyboard and it works wonderfully

And re: first point, running a text chat like Discord or reading articles as I JFG is super convenient when set vertically vs horizontally

 

I'd do it for work too but I run a 48" for work and cannot possibly make room for more

 

I feel like most of things we interact with on the daily are forms of lists that are inherently vertical (think about it lol, even this forum is a list of posts) and if we are being honest, designers these days still haven’t figured out how to use horizontal space past the 1200 pixel mark (largely thanks to the fact that the perfect width of a paragraph for legibility is 1,5 alphabets) so for tasks that require reading or looking at lists, a vertical monitor makes sense.

plus, 1080p or even 1440p wide is more than enough for most applications that are mostly interface chrome (see: OBS, like Dustin mentioned) and you can have two of those under each other, essentially mimicking 2 stacked “regular” displays.

Since I’m constantly on the road for work and I’ve been trying to think of how best to streamline my set up to be as portable as possible. I’m going to switch out my PC for a laptop and I’ve been looking into portable monitors as well as AR glasses as replacements for the current desk and monitor set up I have now.

rogue prince of persia is a good game, started that last night on PS

Playing this destiny mobile game makes me want to revisit D2. I see PS+ has some sort of "collection" up to the latest expansion, I may be in for quite a grind session once I get back home from traveling and can play.

Liking things out of spite is such a vibe I love it

 

I get that "everything is a remix" but does no one have a fucking original idea any more? the intro to Cronos is literally just a Voight Kampf test followed by the calibration sequence from Blade Runner 2077.
