booting Spider-Man 2 for the first time since 2023, i forgot how cool this game is lol

Went to dragoncon in Atlanta this weekend and one of the most popular costumes was the alternate mime outfit (complete with bread) from Expedition 33. I think because it was a group costume it multiplied like crazy, always saw them walking through the hallways in 5-10 person groups.

The most popular costume was non-gaming and was kpop demon hunters by far.

 

If nobody else is interested in performing exorcisms in the east, I wouldn’t mind doing so.

This makes sense to me. I dont think we have similar tastes.

 

I just think Hell is Us wears it’s influenced a little too on its sleeve and the music is aping The Haxan Cloak’s work on Returnal to the point of parody. It just rubs me the wrong way.

I do think the exploration is great though and I’ve read the funniest takes from the dumbest people already (“this game is too obtuse. I got lost in the woods right away” … you couldn’t waterboard shit like that out of me.)

I do applaud it continuing the trend of games that make you pay attention. I have this huge pet peeve of people just consuming content “on the side” (i.e. people on their phones during moves) so anything to combat that is welcome in my book.

rolled credits on Death Stranding 2! those final few hours were such a fun ride. I don’t know how much post game stuff I’ll do but it’s not getting removed anytime soon.

Still really liking Hell Is Us. Very much my kind of game. Might do the unthinkable and put off playing Silksong till I beat it.

 

I really want to make a more concerted effort to sick with games I am enjoying instead of switching over to the new hotness.

I’ve been trying to do this! But it’s so tough! lol I just beat Ragebound and am trying to pick what’s next but telling myself to pick carefully cause I’m trying to stick with em and beat em right now. Think I’m FINALLY going to return to Clair Obscur I’ve seen it a lot in this forum and started it and was loving it but something new and shiny distracted me ha think it’s time to fix that.

I am going on holidays on Friday which means I'll only bring my Mac aka The Silksong Machine, so I'll have to put my playthrough of Astral Chain (a switch 1 game btw.) on hold. :'(

This is pretty fucking dope.

 

I started a new BG3 playthrough and I AM going to finish it this time. I'm trying to avoid playing certain toxic online games that I'm really just bad at and stress me out in the evenings and get some other things going. My 1st play through I got to 72 hours in, and the 2nd, just 13.

The 1st play I abandoned as I left the game for too long and now have no idea where I'm going, what I'm doing or any of the mechanics I learned along the way and it just lost all narrative momentum. The 2nd, I made a horrible choice and am stuck in a fight I don't want to have, so I just started again to avoid that story choice. I'm at the moment where this time, I won't do what I did before.

I'm also enjoying it more now as I got a new 32" monitor and wow, can I read the text, see the map better etc etc.

 

32 inches is such a good size for a gaming monitor.

 

I love my 34 inch ultra wide so much

 

I think I'm sitting a little too close as it's mounted on the back side of my desk (which is somewhat shallow) but I'm used to it now. I need to decide on a 2nd sized monitor. I am thinking a 24" vertical (it's for work, but hey, not my fault if they become multipurpose).

Work purchased it as I'm wfh now so it is a 'budget' monitor as I didn't want to spend too much, but I like it so far.

 

Vertical monitor for a 2nd screen is life changing haha I’m a huge fan

 

To be fair I used it for Spotify or YouTube while I had figma open full screen on the other monitor lol but I guess it’s nice to have like email or slack on there.
