I’ve started dual wielding pistols and that feels like a completely different game, the combat variety is astounding

Need to play Avowed more admittedly, mainly been playing random games for short spurts. Almost fell back into the Binding of Isaac habit but I stopped myself from wrecking another controller from frantic gameplay again.

At this rate I don’t see how ME lives up to EA’s massive expectations

What massive expectations does EA even have for mass effect? they gutted BioWare after Veilguard fell short by 50%, what do you think they’re expecting?

Not to defend EA but expectations don’t have to be massive for 1,5 million copies to not be enough. A game like Veilguard simply has to sell way more than that. Now what that says about the state of the industry is a different problem.

They also signaled they think Veilguard failed because it wasn’t live service, which ME will never be. They’re gonna get it out the door simply because it will cost less money than completely shutting them down, and then they’ll shut them down

I mean when you take 7(?) years to make a game you need to sell like 1,5 million per year of development

Also people like to forget that Inquisition (a fucking amazing game) single handedly outsold ME as a franchise. ME fans are just louder lol

They’ll set some arbitrary extremely high number that they know they won’t hit, so they can cut them completely once it fails to reach it. I agree with what you’re saying, BioWare is definitely cooked once they ship ME

  25. I'm so sick of this trend of publishers acquiring developers and then disbanding them once the game they make doesn't sell well enough. games are getting too expensive, but the people who make them still need to be paid enough to make a living, and letting them go is definitely counterintuitive to that point. i mostly wait for sales and bundles, i only buy like two new games a year at full price, and i'm sure there are a lot of other consumers like me who want to support the industry yet simply don't have the means. publishers need to understand that if a game doesn't immediately sell well it isn't always because the developer made a shitty game. laying off a bunch of people should never be the solution. something else needs to happen
