FF16 imo

As someone who never played a FF game before that and then played FF7 Remake and Rebirth after it lol

They had a demo before release and it pulled me in. It was a good game for sure. It’s more action based and it doesn’t have the same pseudo-turn based system but if you like the remakes then I think you’ll like 16

 

If you want more action combat, FFXVI for sure. If you want to try one of the more traditional turn based ones, FFX.

 

Speaking of FF, info on the upcoming MTG expansion dropped today and all the cards are so fucking cool

 

The level design in Avowed is just gorgeous, truly impressive levels of detail is built into the backgrounds and it just feels so alive. Your move, Bethesda Game Studio.

 

I have zero faith in the studio that made Starfield, I am sorry.

 

Still a wild and BS layoff, but this was for a US based support team and not the main dev team out in China, and definitely not the Rivals director.

I’m fairly new myself with starting back in August, but it’s been a lot of fun and met so many new friends along the way.

Those Final Fantasy Magic cards are something...such a fun game but Hasbro is absolutely hellbent on getting each and every dollar they can out of Wizards of the Coast, last time I checked Magic, not Transformers or GI Joe or Barbie was their biggest IP. If it brings people in the door, that's fine but only time will tell. There's a Marvel set coming out this year too...It's a bit much imo. Magic sets always have a theme or a story but seeing it basically just become Fortnite is depressing.

 

Some games I have played recently:

LEGO Batman 2: What a difference some voice acting makes. For games styled on Legos, they are all still surprisingly restrictive.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel: Probably the most enjoyable so far, but that humor is impossible to get over.

Maneater: Gleefully stupid and short enough to not wear out its welcome. Parnell's voiceover brings memories of Dr. Spaceman.

Assassin's Creed: Syndicate: Of the three I have played, it is not as good as 2 but not as good as 3. These games always have very frustrating ways to lead you into the cinematic path you want, so it isn't really about figuring out the best way to kill someone but rather the best way to do what the game wants.

 

I recently downloaded Anno: Mutationem on PS+ and I'm hooked. I dunno if I'd call it a -Vania game per se, more like it's inspired by? I like how it's open world and there's so much to do.

 

It’s a great game

 

I'm only a few hours in and the story is so engrossing I need to know more haha. The VA is great too, I recognize a lot of talent right off the bat.
