Pics or it didn't happen

 

Played a couple more rounds of this throughout the network test and ended uop enjoying it quite a bit. Looking forward to the full release now. Never made it back to the Day 2 boss but it was fun regardless.

For those that dont know, the structure of the game is as follows. You start in the roundtable hold and choose what character you want to play as and what final boss you are going after. In the demo, there was only 1 option (three headed wolf) but there are supposedly 8 in the main game. You then go into a randomized version of Limgrave and gather loot while the rain circle closes in and once its small enough, a boss shows up. If you beat the boss, the rain expands again and you repeat the process twice more with the boss you chose at the beginning showing up on the third day.

Generally, it feels like you are trying to speedrun Elden Ring as opposed to methodically exploring like in the main game. Not what I come to these games for, but its quite fun when you get used to it.

 

A completionist YouTuber I follow has inspired me to go down the rabbit hole of PS Plus. Next up is Resistance: Retribution. It looks like it was a PSP port. Looks pretty straightforward so looking forward to checking it out.

 

Resistance is such an underrated series

 

lol I just remembered I did marketing for that game here in europe.

 

watched a bunch of streams of NightReign the past few days. A couple things:

- it all seems WAY too fast. Everything is on the fly and there is almost NO downtime aside from RIGHT before the final boss, which seems silly.
- I think it would benefit from a timer somewhere so you know how much time you have left before the storm closes in.
- losing a level when you die seems silly. You already lose your runes, not sure losing a level is needed.
- there seems to be a LOT of junk loot.
- not sure there are going to be enough places to acquire smithing materials aside from buying them? At least not that I saw.

granted, I am a HUGE Elden Ring and Souls-like fan, and I absolutely despise the "Fortnite" genre and don't typically love rogue-likes.....so maybe this game isn't geared towards me? But still. And yes I realize this is only a Network test and there is still a few months til release.

 

Sony be fucking up not putting out those games for download

Xbox going third party is the best thing they have ever done since the 360. LOADS more trophies for me!

what a crazy game and I still barely know how to play lmao. I’m just winging it.

 

Humble's deckbuilder bundle doesn't really look very interesting this time around

 

I’m like deathly afraid of spiders so imagine my surprise when I’m playing Star Wars Jedi fallen order and I’m just minding my business thinking no spiders could ever be there.

I get jump scared by a goddamn spider I hate life

 

I played over the weekend and these are all things I agree with. Definitely needs slightly longer cycles and a timer would help a ton since you never really know when the circle is going to start shrinking. Loot was very annoying to deal with on the fly too. Should be auto pickup and unlimited carry capacity on consumables. I even think you should be able to pick up every weapon you find and they should give a break in action, maybe after any end of day boss, where you can sift through all your loot to find the weapons you want to equip or throw out. There is zero time to decide which you want to use so I ended up going with whichever weapons had the highest DPS. Also think I upgraded a weapon maybe once. Found very few smithing stones in this but I think that could be solved by giving us more time to explore the map.

I love all the Soulsborne games but don't really feel like this game is for those who want more of that classic gameplay. I think the full game will improve upon what we got in the network test but frankly Im not champing at the bit for more like I usually am with Fromsoft games.

 

I didn't get to play the network test at all but everything I've seen of Nightreign looks sick as hell and I'm excited for it

I'm so glad they're switching it up, we have enough classic soulsbornes

I hope the server issues we saw in the first wave are remedied though prior to actual release, I do worry about that a lot

 

oh hell yeah I forgot Avowed was today, downloading now

 

It doesn’t unlock until 7PM here FUCK now I cannot play until Friday

 

Excited to check out Lost Records at some point today
