oh I'm hearing Hellblade 2 at state of play tomorrow but it's Jez Corden so who the fuck knows

 

That is GREAT to know, I had that as a big concern

 

I'm already getting kinda bored of Blade Assault. that's that classic kaylinh whiplash amirite? I looked up how many levels it has; there's six chapters, i've only gotten halfway through the game. yeah, rogues are kinda grindy at the beginning, but this and Have a Nice Death take exceptionally long to get rolling.

i'm technically still in the middle of Jedi Survivor but I keep starting new 2d action-platformers. I just got Ender Lilies for free via Prime and my friend's been recommending it for a while now.

buuut just out of curiosity/for future reference, what are some 3d action-adventure games with female protagonists? preferably ones where you have to play as a female character and not stuff where you can choose your gender. but not sequels or entries to long-running franchises that are mostly male-led like Uncharted Lost Legacy, Wolfenstein Young Blood, Far Cry, Assassin's Creed

Resident Evil 9 is going to be the one big thing I expect for tomorrow, Capcom loves these early year State of Play presentations. Sony first party stuff like Santa Monica new IP or even Ghost of Yotei/Wolverine updates feel like summer showcase deals. There will be a couple cool showings from third party titles either new games or new trailers for announced ones. Sony’s track record with these shows have me setting expectations way low to not be disappointed.

 

both Resident Evil 7 and 8 were first shown at Sony conferences so... might be onto something. also we're due.

Not too familiar with the genre, but Marathon is an extraction shooter, yeah? I get the premise is to get in, get loot, get out. Does gameplay consist of a handful of squads dropping in simultaneously? I’m intrigued by any co-op shooter I can play either friends that isn’t inherently a sweaty skill based competitive game that a casual like me would have no chance with.

So marvel rivals is now instituting mid season de-ranking in addition to seasonal ones. I've never dealt with this in OW so it sucks. Apparently other games like Apex do this. The first two weeks after de-rank are a total cluster. I'm in diamond 2 now so I'll get punted down to gold. Such a turn off.

 

Extraction shooters are kind of by nature more sweaty but we don’t really know anything about Marathon yet. If any of them has a chance to have some more mainstream/casual appeal, it’s probably that one.

 

Ya I was pissed when I read that initially last night. Thankfully it looks like they’re reversing that decision and it’s no longer happening.
