I'm reaching the end of my first playthrough of Cyberpunk. I think all I have left for the main storyline is the last mission for Judy and then Rogue's mission(s?). Anyway I just downloaded Phantom Liberty as well and part of me is wondering if I should just finish the whole base game using one of the original endings, and then go back to Phantom Liberty and re-do the final missions to use the new ending. Does anyone have a strong spoiler free opinion here?

My opinion is especially spoiler free because I haven't played the game, but I think you should do whatever your little dinosaur heart desires.

Iirc, the DLC takes place during a part of the main campaign so imo, start a new character and play through it again.

    yes.

    make a save.
    finish the game.
    reload the save.
    play the DLC.

fuck replaying the first 5 or so hours of Cyberpunk.

I have too many games to play and nowhere near enough time, so I almost never replay huge open world games which is why I'm asking this question because I want this playthrough to feel really complete. (Although I do think I would enjoy another run through of Cyberpunk that's focused on missions only and ignoring all the gigs and stuff, but I digress).

But yes ok this is what I think I'll do. Thank you for the input.

you can start the DLC from the main menu too if you wish, it'll boost your character to the appropriate level, if you want to experiment with different builds.

I really hope they only do a very technical job on it because as much as I love Gears of War, I despise Judgement.

here's my short Cyberpunk DLC rant:
I have played and finished the game within days of release, and had a great time with it. However, by the time the DLC rolled around, through a plethora of patches and fundamental changes to the underlying systems of the game, I was so alienated from both my character as well as the game that I couldn't really get back into it anymore.
I therefore started another play-through, but I was so familiar with the story beats that I called it quits before I even met Johnny.

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

Cyberpunk still was a disappointment even after all the updates imo. Game just did not do much for me, and I still got multiple glitches with missions not activating. The world itself was really cool and there were some fun moments, but overall it just was a massive let down for me personally

I’ve had a great time with it, but I didn’t start playing it until not long before the DLC and patch 2.0 came out, so I never really got used to the old system before it all changed.

I do feel sometimes like some of it is just too hard to understand. Like for example I could still add more cyberware in terms of like the limit number, but I have no empty slots and nothing left to upgrade. Idk if that makes sense but my point is some of the systems are not intuitive. But it’s not affecting my enjoyment really

I was in the exact same boat. Devoured Remake quickly and now I’m nearly 70 hours into Rebirth with 3+ chapters to go. Hope you fall in love as I have.

Just ordered a Steam Deck OLED earlier today. Haven't been this excited for a tech purchase in a long time. Really can't wait to dive into my backlog, and curious how much more gaming I'll do on it vs the PC I built in 2020. Tired of all the Windows Update BS, driver updates, etc. I initially showed interest in handhelds about a month ago, and quickly went down a rabbit hole of YT videos reviewing the Deck, its emulation capabilities, plugins, customizations, and overall I just can't believe its versatility. Part of me wanted to hold off for Steam Deck 2, but I know it's gonna be 2026 or possibly 2027 before it's released.

Gonna be a longggg week ahead waiting for this thing.
